Umi I thought you were old enough to remember Simon and Garfunkle-I was aware that the family company,Davbridge has,through the father Ray backed his son's racing for a long time.
Davbridge has an impressive record and reputation in road and bridge construction hence my tongue in cheek response...but maybe I am closer to the mark than some may think.

If a team doesn't feed the cars new bits all the time due to (it appears) budgetary considerations, and the bits that are aboard are said to be within regular lifespan but at the upper end of that lifespan, and the cars get knocked around on track as race cars do but walls are their friends too, component failure will often be a constant companion.

A shame for the team and Mr Hay..

From where I am sitting he looked like he was the guy running the team and trying to push them along while wearing multilple hats. Seems he'd be the last one to go unless on his own terms.

According to chatter in the comments sections, it appears those supplying and applying said stickers are the ones not getting paid.
