Ginetta G50 vs TVR Tuscan
i dont know how many of you guys have seen these things yet but i wanted to know what you thought about the ginetta g50! i know a driver who races in the brit gt as well as doing a guest drive in the g50 champ and he was saying that the g50 is just a yob of a car but great fun to drive, a real old fashioned sports car. in the article he wrote he stole my line about the g50 resembling the old tvr tuscan! if you have seen these things yet what do you all think of them? is it a new tuscan or just another sportscar?

Well I don't think this is Armchair stuff, so I think I'll send this to Road car forum; no, better still, the GT & Sportscar forum since I don't reckon there's a road going version of the G50 yet, although there maybe a prototype.

Agreed. The TVR was mega- remember the purple ones!? And the G50 could look so much better than it does.

A couple of friends who have driven one remarked that it didn't feel that fast, the bhp/ton certainly isn't that great. Certainly not in the same league as a Tuscan anyway.
With the Zytek engine is should go some though, will be intersting to see what the price and reliability are like. |

Indeed,I saw a recap of that race and his crash at Oulton Park.
Incredible,by the looks of it it seemed as if he was engulfed by burning gasoline! Lucky guy, professional officials... |

After the Gallardo, the Ginettas my favourite British GT car, which is saying a lot considering it's a GT4 car.

same here, the gallardo is a lovely car in the GT3, looks wonderful.
the ginetta looks fabulous, not as good as the V8 vantage in GT4 though but still it looks brilliant and reminds me of a TVR, a proper simple balls out blue collar sports car, although it could do with a snorting angry V8 exhaust note instead of the woofly bassy 6 cylinder exhaust note, that would complete it for me. however the tuscan is still more impressive, the tuscan cup cars were pretty hard to beat, they looked fabulous, were spectacular to watch and made a brilliant noise . |

Are TVRs still being made? I've stopped following ever since they closed shop in Blackpool.
Also, if they are still in business, I don't suppose they'll go back to Le Mans racing anytime soon... |

TVR might legally still exist, but they have sacked all their staff and closed their factory in Blackpool.

so TVR are as good as dead then
then again, what can you expect from some people out to make a quick buck, the best british sportscar company ever in my opinion is gone, a real shame, but then again i guess the writing was on the wall for TVR in 2006 anyway. i wonder also if ginetta are doing a GT3 version of the G50, merely sparked out of curiosity, it seems the car could be quite easily ported over to GT3 as it is been to GT2 as well. |
