750mc Hot Hatch?

Have just received the "Pole Position mag" from Demon Tweeks and it reports that Hot Hatch is struggling for numbers & may not run next year. Any views?

Seem to have been sinking in numbers for a while now and possibly just victims of to many series, not enough cars and expensive to build regulations.

Colin has it spot on. I expect the decision has already been made on this one. 750MC can't afford to subsidise small grids.

Plenty of other places for the cars to run.

Its had its day, when it started it took loads of cars away from our much more interesting ModProd Championship now it is its turn to collapse, I won't mourn its passing as like many other series and championships IMHO it should never have been allowed to start up in the first place when all it was doing was watering down other good championships.

I suppose what's left of them would fit in quite a few other series so some should benefit from i's demise.

I think there's a lesson to be learnt there though, they started out as 1600 cars similar to Group 1 TC spec, albeit with no minimum weight. Grids flourished. Over the years the regs have become more and more modified and they are left with what they have now.

Exactly and a stepping stone from stock hatch but nowadays not many people can jump that far. Suppose it had to give really though with the smaller category being so popular.
Times have changed and its obvious what most of us want from the success of TTRS.

I see in this weeks MN that Hot Hatch has been canned, seemingly with immediate effect. I'll make a shameless plug for the competitors to have a look at the Classic Sports Car Club's "Tin Tops" series!! Good value 40 min races for one or two drivers.

Would the championships reputation for high body damage have any bearing on why guys have moved on?

I thought that was Stock Hatch, Al, with the body damage.

I don't know why the Hot's fell away. It's a difficult one to call. Perhaps the success of other championships may have taken those competitors, or perhaps it was where people moved on, but were not replaced by people willing to have a go.

There are toooo many championships vying for a falling number of competitors with less money today than they had yesterday.
