I know it is bad form to post a link to other forums, but if you look on the Pistonheads site there is the answer to this question in their Tuscan Challenge forum.

The biggest cost seems to be the new set of tyres for each race...

Hi,

I was the one who asked the same question on PistonHeads, and costs vary quite a lot depending on who runs the car for you, how much work you do yourself, whether you take out insurance, how many new tyres you buy and so on.

Rough estimates range from £2k per meeting if you buy your own car and do everything yourself, to £60k+ for a season being run by a team.

Not cheap whatever way you do it...

Back in 1995 I worked with someone that was moving to Tuscans in 1996, I had a quick look at a breakdown of some costs but all I can remember from it was that the tyres were at least £8k for the year (not including testing...)

I believe you can pay a fixed amount to TVR and they provide the engine for the whole season, even if you keep blowing them up.

yes it's a lease, but does not cover, I think, the removal, carriage and refitting costs. I think it's £16k pa?

The Tuscans had their lowest ever number of starters at the last round. Perhaps Woody has a point....

Here is some footage of Tuscan racing at Rockingham. The cost is £3500 to £5000. It is an expensive game.
