kpm - I don't know about the V8s, but the 1998 lap record for the V6s was 51.05secs - I should imagine the V8s would be a couple of seconds quicker.

Have a look at www.brscc-se.co.uk and look in the results section. They should have the results for this season on there. Hope that helps.

Eurocars has changed into the V-Sport championships, with little success in gaining bigger grids for the V8s.

Here are some of my EUROCAR memories through out the years. I really wish it would be how it used to be, they produced the best racing around.

Actually, the only series that has grown from the Eurocar package has been Legends. Sadly the days of two races for the V6 Eurocars has long since gone and the V8's never took off. The BRSCC lost a firtune with the whole package and has now withdrawn financially from it.

I'm hoping the VSR 6s and 8s will be bigger and better than this year next season. They've shared the bill with the Mighty Minis on several occasions, and have for the most part given some great racing, especially on the more scenic circuits. Some of the slides and wiggles down Cascades at Oulton were phenomenal, and eeing Mick Doble consistently at most 2in away from the hill at the right-hand edge of the Hall Bends at Cadwell is one of the sights of this season that will stay with me for a very long time. Then of course there was also the race at Brands in the pouring rain that made for some ... interesting ... action

Next Season the V6's will have 3 races with one of them with the V8's, with the V8's having 2 races altogether.

The BRSCC invested approx. £60,000 over a period of 3 to 4 years, they lost it yes, but they did not loose "several humdred thousand pounds" in Eurocars. They lost "Several Hundred Thousand pounds" in other ventures, mis-management and general screw-ups, Eurocards was not included. The V8's were not that much faster around BH, I think it was around 49's or 50's Last edited by Ian-S; 11 Dec 2001 at 21:34. |
