FIA just killed F3. GP3-boring-concept won the game. No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may.

I agree, F3 was one of the few junior formulas that taught how important setup is

everything teaches how important setup is
what f3 (and fford before it) did was involve drivers in cars with a far greater number of variables at an early stage, and teach engineers how to handle said variables and experiment to find gains. by making single make series easy to set up as a way of levelling out competition they’re killing off real engineering training and reducing driver education to a very basic level. so you get engineers who don’t know how to tinker but can use ms excel, and drivers who don’t know how to feel and understand different changes in a car beyond the very limited stuff you can change outside of even current f3. everyone loses. but it’s a bit like the old airport security “theatre”, you have to be seen to be doing something to reduce costs, even if it doesn’t work and you know it won’t. |

Which engine manufacturer do you think can get the new F3 contract? As VW is retreating, will it be mercedes? Renault? Mecachrome?

I'd say Oreca or GIbson will provide engines, and Renault will put the logos.

There is rumours that the current European F3 might continue running alongside the new F3/GP3 merger

Or maybe this "Old New" F3 Euroseries will turn into a Regional F3 Championship with the blessing of the FIA , maybe Northern Europe F3 Championship

I can certainly seeing it being a regional championship. Just remember when the original Euroseries was commissioned in 03, it was a merger of the French and German series

FIA will give the Regional status to Berger just to shut him up. Who follows the elephant will have no problems.

An International F3 needs a round or two in South America... One at Brazil and other in Piriápolis / Punta del Este / Buenos Aires married with STC2000 and Brazilian Stock Cars.
