The Touring Car Register

Lovely job by Redshoes at www.touringcarregister.com

I hate to think how long this has taken to come to fruition!

Not as long as you would think. NGTC are still current, S2000 are recent enough that they are still fresh in peoples' memories. So much easier than researching 90's Super Tourers!

Well credit to you and Peter anyway. It's very thorough so far.

Will you be gradually adding other cars like the Alfa Romeo 147, Lexus (of BTC and S2k flavours) and the other homegrown cars when info is available?

Redshoes did you do super touring register ?

cos there are things wrong it like STW race numbers, for example 1995 season

Miloš Bychl BMW had no 37 and not 29 and team wasn't PM Car Sports either

or in super touring register there is a VW Golf III listed there which AFAIK wasn't a super tourer

or for STW 1994 Patrick Huisman raced with no 26 at Zandovort, and not Team Schnieder but the car of Miloš Bychl

Absolutely. What you see now is just what we are in a position to publish, many other cars are still 'work in progress', it's nowhere near complete.

Yes, a lot of time, effort, emails, phone calls and many cups of coffee have gone into this project.

As Nigel says, we have many that are still work in progress where we just need to join the dots.

As for some quick stats. We have over 260 published verified cars with almost the same amount unverified and unpublished.

While we have almost 1700 images... So far.

If anyone thinks they can contribute to the register, feel free.
You can also email to info@touringcarregister.com

Also, look out for the cars that never made it. They are there as well.

regarding those Lexus in 2006 season at the last 2 meeting you had 4 of them racing at the same time , 2 BTC Racing and 2 Xero Competition so we can assume there were at least 4 of them build

the thing is I don't know which of those were the 2 raced in 2005 in green livery by HPI Racing

another car missing from the list is the diesel powered BMW 120 D raced in 2007 and 2009 by AFM Racing

The 2 pairs of cars were very different. The Xero pair started life as Dutch SuperProduction cars and were updated to S2000-spec by Xero. The green HPI pair were built as S2000 by SpeedEquipe, and those cars are the ones BTC used from 2006

There really are an incredible number of cars out there. Especially when you think about the ones we didn't see in the UK and have completely forgotten about.

The amount of S2000 BMWs built surprised me, the same with the Alfa 156's. Conversely, the number of Leon's built I thought was more than 8, but perhaps thats just my impression, they seemed to be more abundant than that.

Big fan of S2000 here, I loved the era.

The BMWs were churned out in big numbers, whether it was a complete ex works car, a kit (like the WSR cars) or super production upgraded to S2000.

They know this. Don't you read the other posts? They aren't publishing everything yet until they have more information. There's really no need to keep telling them what isn't online yet. They're experienced touring car enthusiasts, don't be disrespectful by keeping on suggesting stuff that isn't there.

Redshoes if you Google image search for Astra UAE touring car, there are a few images of the Coupes that went there. There's one with an ugly raised bonnet that ran a Vectra S2000 engine.

Just to put you in the picture.
We have had confirmation from Schnitzer that around 100 E46 BMW's were produced, Many were sent out as self builds so an accurate count is not possible and they cannot confirm chassis numbers.
There were 79 E90 BMW's built, We have all the chassis numbers for these.
And as for the SEAT Leon's, 31 chassis numbers were allocated. If you look, Chassis #31 is listed.
As Craner has stated, we will only be publishing when we have confirmed information.
