Ayrton Senna's IndyCar test - Phoenix 1992

Hi everyone - I'm looking at writing an article for my website about Ayrton Senna's Indycar test at Phoenix in 1992. I would appreciate any information at all, whether it be times, pictures, articles, whatever. So far, I haven't really come up with much, just a bit of a backround, and these two pictures:

Imagine if Senna had gone to Indy - imagine the 1993 Indy 500, with former F1 stars Senna, Piquet, Mansell, Fittipaldi and Andretti - now that would have been super.

that would have been great to see..One problem that we had in oz though was good old channel 9 who had the rights back then..they spent weeks building us up for the big race ...we were all ready for it ...and then race day they decided they didnt want to show the race because the yanks were asking too much for the coverage....that was one the biggest let downs I have ever had when it comes to motorsport .....thank god i have cable and can watch the 500 live now on fox sports...but it still would have been great to see Ayrton have a crack at it.....

and i have to add again that those pics look awesome.
that yellow helmet in the malboro car just seems to click something inside ..perfect

I seem to remember that he said he thoroughly enjoyed the car, and felt like he was driving it - unlike F1 where it was all TC and active suspension, which Senna detested. All sounds rather familiar....

marcus, did Channel 9 really not show it at all? I know C9 is rubbish, but I didn't follow racing much back then, so I can't remember.

And yes, it would have been brilliant seeing Senna at Indy.

yep thats right DNQ ..they built us up with stories and some qualifying info and let us think everything was going great and then whammo ..no indy 500 in 93 for Oz viewers..and then at the next F1 race they made poor old Darrel eastlake try and explain why after countless amounts of letters complaining about it..

dirty sods !!!!!
