Chevron B23
28 cars built so may as well get this baby going as the B19/21 are evolving into B21/23 entries in the races also finding that some B21 cars are being entered as B23 cars in Japan GC races
Apart from the simple bolt on body part to rear wheel arch there are no other obvious difference on the B23 over B21 I guess the minor differences to suspension geometry is related to the tyre development that will have taken place since the B19 ran on treaded tyres before the switch to slicks Currently compiling list of adverts from Autosport to post in the next day or so |

yes i have all the adverts from De Sellincourt advertising the car big advert 1974 once then nothing again until early 75 in lineage advert
I never did understand why Crookers bought this type of car so long ago for Oz racing was there a sports racing class to warrant such a car down there? it would have been more practical for him to keep it up here and do some races when he flew back n forth |

A propos not very much, any one know why Bennett 'type-numbered' the 1973 G6 car AFTER the 1972 F5000 car. Logically, the B24 should have been numbered B23, and vice-versa shouldn't it.
Not much doing at work at the moment... |

Chevron B23 Chassis history
My car is chassis # AM73 23 18, tub tag 21. I have established that the car was raced in the Italian Sportscar Championship between 1975 and 1977 by Claudio Francisi (75);Marco Gallo (76); Mario Gismondo (77) it was restored by Vin Malek at Chevron in the late 80's and brought to the U.S. iin the early 90's. I desparately want to learn more about the car and hopefully find photos to restore the car to the original livery any help would be greatly appreciated Jim Richmond

If Vin Malkie Racing restored the car then the history of that restoration should be available from Chevron Racing, Model Cottage, Hollins Lane, Antrobus, Cheshire, CW9 6NL England could do a quick check on dates etc if you wish, via a PM |

B23-73-8
A bit slow in replying to James but the whereabouts of chassis 8 is well known and in the hands of the same owner for some time. John can contact me at chevron heritage if he wants specific information.

Prosport 3000 parts
Hi Driftwood
Sorry for the off topic question. Do you still have Prosport 3000 specific CV joints on the shelf? I will need at least two. May be interested in some more Prosport spares as well. Last edited by misterpantera; 1 May 2017 at 20:02. |
