Good to see the Kings of the Ring are back out front! Great job by Olaf Manthey and the drivers, didnt think they had a chance at victory with the level of competition this year but they prooved me wrong again, not only did they win, they dominated.

Burnouts!!!!

Also great job by the #1 BMW, they tried everything they could to close in to the Porsche, but the 18 was just too strong. Also, a huge improvement for Audi over last year. Really sorry for the Hankook Ferrari and the NFS BMW Z4s though.

Congratulations to Manthey Racing! They had the best strategy and in the end also the best car (and a little bit luck).

Perfect result, the quickest car won and who can't be happy for Manthey? Great team, pure class.

Tough race for BMW, the first nine hours were really bitter...props to them for soldering through, well deserved second place finish.

Audi finally gets some reward by clinching the SP9 class, I was wrong about the R8 never becoming reliable..it was. Great finish for the Stucks, Farnbacher can be quite happy with 8th as well.

And to top it all off, Mercedes leaves empty-handed...awesome

One has to wonder whether this was his last appearance in a factory car at a big 24h race for a longer while. BMW's programme ends, that is a dead end for him...

I still cant believe that after races like Le Mans two weeks ago and now the race today, as well as DTM races like Lausitz this year where nothing happens, BMW as a factory effort is leaving endurance racing.

Will it? Seems to me that the endurance program will continue, but not with a new car.

For Lamy, Peugeot is over and done thats for sure!
Let's see if the "dead end" doesn't come to Peugeot first.

Great race and well deserved victory for the old Manthey gang. Couldn't pull out another all-nighter this time round (had to take a nap after 3AM) but nevertheless it was a very entertaining battle throughout the field. I was left a bit frustrated after yesterday's INSANELY STUPID performance balancing decisions (just four hours prior to race, wtf!!) so in a way I'm glad we didn't get a win by GT3/SP9 or the hybrid.

Oh, and hopefully mr. Rollers will be back with RLM next year. Fabulous stuff by the boys.

Again (I´m going to put this in my sig I think lol), Dr Theissen has confirmed to Eurosport at Le Mans that BMW's factory involvement in sports cars ends after the 2011 season aside from Z4 GT3 technical support for customers.

BMW is shifting all their effort to the DTM starting 2012, Schnitzer will be one of the crews there... their works team is busy, there are no resources for sports car races with the M3.

The ALMS programme might continue if RLR can fund it themselves which is doubtful given the US economy. BMW would also be interested in selling the M3 as customer car, it's kind of unlikely that they find a buyer though as the car is expensive and with no further development, the potential buyer would be stuck in a dead end.

So unless a miracle of some sort comes along, this is the last we´ll be seing from the M3 GT2. As sad as that is.... well, the car had plenty of success at least.

Yes, I know that, Im referring to the quality of endurance racing compared to the quality of Dull Tedious Mudane recently.
