Possible Flight problems!

Oct 10th is apparently the day when could be a second Euro Air Traffic Controllers strike! Also the day some will be wanting to fly into Jerez for this meeting.

Not a problem for me but keep your ears to the ground......

Someone?

No suggestion of any local organised 'monoposto' at either but I will ask...

Mike: Fortunately I'm booked to fly out on the 9th ... fingers crossed.

Iain: Blurb from Masters website:

Don't forget that our season ends in the Spanish sunshine with the first ever Jerez Historic Festival on October 11-13.

The Jerez circuit, set in the heart of the famous sherry-producing region, is the latest circuit to embrace historic motor racing. Masters is being joined for this first Historic Festival by the HGPCA, FIA Lurani Trophy and Iberian Historic Endurance in order to create a busy 2-day timetable with a Friday Test Day.

We will be taking grids for FIA Masters Historic Formula One Cars (2x25-minute races), FIA Masters Historic Sports Cars (90-minute championship decider), Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT Cars (2-hours), Pre-66 Touring Cars and 70s Celebration combined grid (60 minutes) and CanAm Interserie Challenge (2x25-minute races).

The 4.228kms circuit, the former home of the Spanish Grand Prix, is a regular home to modern day F1 testing and, with it's with 13 corners and fast straights, is a true test of man and machine.

All entrants will receive two FREE nights accommodation in a local hotel if your entry forms and payment are received ASAP - the entry deadline for hotel bookings is Monday 9th September so confirm your space on the grid today!

As usual, if you have any questions about transportation or the event itself, call the Masters office. We look forward to seeing you on the grid - don't forget the sun tan lotion!

No no this ones different- it's a TRUE test of man and machine.

Don't think there will be any FF races at either event, but still waiting for confirmation.

Good James, you will be there to greet us with cold beers and all passes sorted.

The answer would appear to be that there are not races at either event suitable for FFs.

At Jerez it is suggested that there will be Classic / Historic motorcycle races as well as normal Masters Grids. At AIA as it likes to be called now, or Portimao for short, extra to the grids in earlier thread there is a 45 minute race scheduled for Classic Grand Prix cars like what run with Masters FIA championship, and two 50 minute 'endurance' races for unspecified vehiculos. So if you have a suitable F1 car lying about, Iain.....

Surely if you dropped a DFV in the back of a Delta and told the organisers who designed it they could make up an Invitation class couldn't they?

You might have to pay a special entry fee though ...

Back to reality...

The timetable is now on Masters website. Testing Friday, which is good as don't need to leave UK until Monday to get there! Hopefully will give Delta more time to recover from wherever he is weekend before.....

Time flies. This time next weekend will be getting ready for qualifying. Just the trip down there go get through first!

Good news for anyone flying is that the proposed euro ATC strike for Thursday is off. (I am told- don't quote me!)

No entry list yet but a glance at garage plan suggests more entries for F1 than Gentleman Drivers. Sounds like another Barcelona, then- Plenty of track space....

Still, there will be the FJ and HGPCA crowd to enjoy, so plenty to look forward to. Including weather, hopefully! Apparently preparation at Delta Motorsport has not been plain sailing, but sure Iain, Martin and Josh will be on schedule and on the ferry Monday night.
