If your only volunteering at a meeting to get a prize or a ride in a car, then your not doing it for the right reasons, yes i see you took a day off work to do the meeting but you made the choice to do that. I work at meetings because i love doing it not because i want to be thanked.

Let's see if you turn up next weekend for the state champs.

P.S. Btw your not a volunteer if you only do 1 day and spectate the next on your free ticket.

I'm glad that our pain and suffering is so funny to you, what else do you want us to do for your amusement, set our genitals on fire?

Here are some pictures.

I will post some more pictures later.

Sorry to disappoint you, Mr_Cool! Do you consume the free lunch provided to you when flagging? Sorry, if you do that means you're not a "real" volunteer .

You're a joker mate. I have flagged at a number of state rounds before, plus the 6-hour at Eastern Creek and even a club's track day. I do it because I enjoy it, and also I don't want to pay for a ticket.

Surely the motivations are irrelevant if I do a good job?

I thought it was great. It's always good to see them thundering around Oran. One bloke shredded his outside rear tyre in the first lap and carried on going!. I have a shot of it somewhere but you can't really get the drama of what was going on. Here's my parting shot for the trucks:

Hopefully the series will grow next year and be able to command Saturday/Sunday race days instead of the Friday/Saturday that this one was.

Great photo!

That was Glenn Dobson you're talking about, in the M.A.N. He was coming through the field well until that, but he did very well even with only 3 wheels! Looked difficult to get the power down, he was sliding eveywhere.

In the same race there was an SBR that had a flat rear tyre too, can't remember who that was.

Thanks mate. THAT'S the bloke!. Legendary driver if you ask me!. Good shots and it's nice to see that damage close up.

I think I have one or two so-so shots of him, so I'll edit this post tonight and include them.

All in all, a top days entertainment. For a long while, I didn't even think about Oran being no more, but don't get me started!.

--EDIT-- Not sure why I'm rolling my eyes!. As you were :-)

Actually that blown tyre is from Falk's truck, as a result of doing a burnout around almost the entire track. He started at Turn 8, and held a line locker all the way around to the start/finish line - thats where he blew his tyre. This was during the "demonstration session" at the end of the day.

The right side was about to go too, you can see the belts!

I remember Falk doing the same in his SBR a few years ago - its his trademark to do a burnout of the entire track non-stop!

Good to see Dobson out again, must have been a few years since he had had a run surely?

I tried posting this on Saturday night, but unfortunately I had some Internet problems over the weekend and the stupid thing did not post.

RotorFan by the Look of the pictures we must have been close to each other on the weekend and took identical pictures as well.

I will post some more pictures later.

Yeah probably were richie. Were you the lot that was also cooking snags on the little gas burner, as we were?

Good photos of the RX-7 being taken out by the ute. That ute driver obviously thought he was something special, he was barging his way through in every race. Both incidents he had on the dogleg were completely avoidable, just shows the quality of driving in the ute series.

I've always wanted to go to a truck race. Still, unfortunately, I can't make it every time because of different circumstances. I work on a truck, but I always drive by the rules, and I would like to see how experienced drivers drive without rules on a truck.
