The M40 truly is the motorsport hub. I saw trucks from Mercedes GP, Motorbase and Honda Uhasa Racing on Wednesday.

I did not enjoy the weather yesterday @ Silverstone. If anyone saw a poor sap walking around in a t-shirt yesterday, that was me. I got the weather badly wrong. I forgot that Silverstone is the windiest place on earth too.

850Estate should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ash Sutton, Josh Cook, Tom Ingram and Jake Hill all in the top 10. There's our next generation - great to see.

Disaster for the Hondas. Neal's puncture the same as Shedden's or caused by the collision with Moffat (wonder if the stewards will have a look at that)? Good job of damage limitation from WSR, I'd imagine that they couldn't have hoped for anything better than that after qualifying so far behind the Hondas.

Sutton and Cook seem like a nice duo. Teamwork is key in motorsport (as Shedden and Neal have shown over the years) and it's great to see two young lads following their example.

I didn't think Steve Ryder had the authority to disqualify driver. Oh, I see what you mean.

Rear wing angle apparently

Triple Eight have appealed Josh Cook's exclusion, but not Ash Sutton's

If successful that gives Cook the win. I can't work out why they have only appealed one of the two cars, unless Ian Harrison had a cheeky side-bet on the number of race winners this year - if successful, Cook would be the 13th different winner.

I'm confused too why he's only appealing Cook, unless they feel it was only Sutton. Shame about the exclusion, them two seem to be getting on well.

So after a great day's racing, 8 drivers have a mathematical chance of the title, although Plato's chances are slim. Colin and AJ are outsiders, but if Tordoff does not score and the others in front of them slip and one of them wins either could be back in it. Collard and Flash did well to avoid being rear gunners ATM, and Jackson is still in it. Anyone want to predict who to win the title, because I don't, not after this weekend. This season has been one of the best

Great recovery drives from all the title contenders, especially Colin and Rob, shows once again patience is a virtue. That's why Tordoff is still on top

And finally, can anyone beat Dan Cammish at Brands?

It seems as if the exclusions were for different technical infringements, so maybe the team feel able to only challenge one of the rulings, whilst they possibly acknowledge the mistake with the other?

It was good seeing Paul Radisich there doing the draw for race 3, it's been a while since seeing him in the BTCC paddock

Two separate issues - the Sutton one was a black and white case where it was either legal or not and there was no room for an appeal. The Cook one was more of a grey area that the team is able to appeal against.

I think the order of play should be more even at Brands. I think every car will be in with a chance of a good result, the track shouldn't really favor any one particular team, however my prediction is on Honda being very strong, I think Neal will snatch it.

I hope Tordoff holds on - be good to see a new face - or Flash sneaks through. Don't like Neal.

seriously Tordoff has soo much luck recently, he qualified much poorer in the last 2 events than the Hondas YET he still has a championship lead

None of what Tordoff has done has struck me as lucky barring Neal's puncture yesterday. I wouldn't call weekends like Oulton Park as lucky, or his charging through at Rockingham as pure fortune, for example. He has driven like a champion so far and is in a position to show for it...

imagine if he had the puncture in race 1 and not both Hondas , the title picture would look really different now

But surely you could say that Tordoff didn't have luck on his side because he didn't have a 5th (IIRC) gear in R2...There's no way that Tordoff is leading this Championship because of luck. Just like there's no way any of the title protagonists heading to Brands are lucky. They have been consistently the best drivers (anyone argue with me?) this season. You don't win a 30 race series because of luck - you win it because you drive quickly and intelligently, have a good team and car behind you and don't take daft risks.

You make your own luck as they say. Whoever they are.
