Spyker selling advertising space on Ebay!

And I thought April fools was on the 1st of April....

http://members.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI....erid=spykerf1#

but it seems they are serious, most striking comment I've seen about it so far is: "too bad they thing they are running an advertising agency instead of a raceteam"

it's also a risk, you could end up with a wrong kind of sponsor(like the kind of advertisements you misteriously find between your email sometimes).

They'd better make use of the 2nd-100th chance option. What's to stop a bunch of idiots from bidding on it?

I can't imagine that many "wrong" types of companies have the resources and will to spend $3M EUR on the engine cover.

How about "Red Bull" on the engine cover?

Would they not be better auctioning small lines for charity to get your own name on it much like HMV did in 2005.

Yes the blue pill does, I don't watch NASCAR but do remember channel hopping and seeing the certain king of beers hit it - oh the irony

They used to - they dropped the sponsorship two years ago.

I can see it now: A Spyker F1 racing around with 'Hi Mum!' plastered all over it.

I have that on my club profile

Got to better value that the air time that Honda sponsors are getting then again, maybe this year they don't want to be associated with Honda

Whoever said that was probably just being cynical for the sake of it. It could be said about most teams. Think Red Bull too! Each team has people dedicated to getting sponsorship. One of them has put an auction on ebay. So what, at worse it should be viewedas just a bit of fun. I fail to see the problem here.

They are a small team, but I am sure there are a lot of racers there.
