Which VW Gearbox case for Mk8/9 Hewland
Does any know Which VW beetle gearbox version (1600,1300, best year etc.) is used for the Hewland Mk 8/9 gearbox?

Any beetle box that has removeable side plates. Later Beetle boxes had only one. Beware before 1971 as clutch shaft bearings are no longer available new. Other things to remember are that the boss needs machined off to allow the Hewland reverse gear idler to fit.

Also Hewland do their own casing. Lots of money im afraid but much stronger.
