2007 CAMS Manual

Received the 2007 CAMS Manual today (maybe the wrong place for this thread?). Beside all of the normal guff NCRs etc all rules, regulations and info is now on-line at www.camsmanual.com.au

From what I gather the manual will become more of a living document in that rather than print the book in December only to have parts of it out of date within weeks the manual will be a generic document and the finer details will be posted on the 'net so it can be updated quicker & easier.

Seems to be a sensible way to do it so a thumbs up to CAMS for a change

I received the '06 manual a few months ago from my boss, it's quite interesting, most of the time I was going through finding ways that I could bend the rules

Apparently they will be including a cut down version of the manual with the NCR's and other items like that in the price of the license, and everything else will be on-line.

I just saw on the licence application that each competitor will get a manual with their licence. It doesn't say how much of a manual it will be though.

There's an article in the latest CAMS magazine regarding it, I don't have access to the magazine at the moment, but from what I remember off the top of my head there's 3~4 sections out of the current manual, and the rest is one line.

Haha, I have no involvement in racing (unfortunately), I'd just looked at some of the rules for various catagories and some of them look hard to enforce, like the stroke of an engine, internals etc etc..

Actually, checking the stroke of an engine is pretty easy, all it needs is a screwdriver down the plug hole and the engine turned over by hand, you measure the distance that the screwdriver traveled and there's your stroke measurement.

although...some welding wire or a light coat hanger is better (easier to poke down the plug hole)
