They seem to think the car is quite peaky and is very fast but has a narrow performance window at the moment

I have not noticed the car at Sebring much but at Daytona it seemed there were moments when it was fast as the acura and moments when it was struggling to keep up with the other cars which goes hand in hand with the above article

A better example of their progress was the testing they did at Spa along with Ferrari. On a track that transitioned between dry to wet and damp, both cars showed not only competent stability, but grip that belied a level of performance we only thought the Toyota had.
Underestimating them is not what anyone should be doing.

Maybe this means that in the future when the class stabilizes we could see more customer cars, but personally, I don't anticipate anywhere near the kind of customer numbers you saw during Group C. If anything, it has become apparent to me after watching the various videos by Marshall Pruett/IMSA explaining the new cars that even if economies of scale eventually trim down acquisition costs, running & optimizing LMDh cars is a significant financial & technical undertaking probably only achievable by the very top privateer teams with some level of manufacturer support. In this regard, the performances of Jota & Proton will serve as significant canary in the coalmine moments (I don't have as high of expectations for JDC-Miller, sadly).

Perhaps once a few years have elapsed the manufacturers who are left standing will move to a factory-supported partner model like what HPD does in IMSA with MSR & WTR rather than running branded in-house programs.

JDC livery was revealed as well as drivers Rockenfeller and Van Der Helm.

Factory cars and drivers must have done in excess of 30,000km testing last year alone so private WEC teams have a bit of catching up to do and one’s still standing outside waiting to get into the party. Didn’t watch latest IMSA race but the factory Porsches weren’t too hot at Daytona.

Not the first time Porsche have designed cars to be viewed from above - which no one ever does. Wish they'd just run the WEC cars as works and then gone all out on the third car. This is a kind of corporate half-way house to be honest, especially across all three cars.
