Except of course you know that VASC didn't do that. A poster on their website made a comment including URLs against the posting rules and the post was removed. He contacted VASC, was told that was the problem and made the same post without the URLs and it has not been touched. I've posted that info in here in a reply to you, the poster on the VASC site posted the same info and yet you are still trying to perpetuate the myth of VASC somehow censoring posts.

Sorry, your last sentence is something of a hysterical over-reaction. You don't know that the statements put out were misleading for reasons also previously spelled out to you, and you know, because you've already been told, that VASC did not silence or remove challenge posts, simply required the poster to stick by the posting rules on their site.

Simples.

Enjoyed the race even though it was wet, the weather made it more interesting in a way. Happy for Davy to get the win!
Well it looks like I'm going to next years race, a family friend has a house near the track. I have been to a couple 12Hours, never a V8 Race, driving down this time too, will be huge experience. Have a question: Do we still need to purchase tickets if we're staying in a house near the track? or only if we want to walk around other parts?

I don't actually know, only been invited recently, the house is down pass the S's, you can see all the way down conrod apparently. So if the house has track access you might not have to purchase tickets, is that what your saying? Have 12 months to sort it out in any event.

Sorry cant help you there, nice spot though

My understanding is that the house will have a limited number of tickets not sure of the number though.

But as you said heaps of time to work it out

What a race! Well done Reynolds, Youlden, Betty and Erebus. Very happy for them.

Surprised it took almost 140 laps for the first crash on the mountain.

Was watching a pre race discusion between Reynolds and woods filmed in the chase.

Reynolds was suggesting that his pole lap time from 2015 was the biggest gap from 1st to 2nd 1.15 secs (it was wet), I had alook and it appears to be the biggest in recent years, certainly bigger that Murphs 03 lap 1.10 secs

anyone else know bigger for the 1000

Just watched the restart when SVG went off, Im at a lost how Chaz got a drive through. Not sure what he did wrong based on that. Would appear GT didnt leave room after messing up the earlier corner

If you watch the replay footage from Chaz' onboard, he has his wheels on the orange-and-white kerbing on the inside and Tander just turns straight down across his bows, Chaz never stood a chance.

No rain. A perfect combination of car and driver.

First time in 37 years that I have missed watching Bathurst, due to being overseas. I had spoken with the Pope at the Vatican, and mentioned a Ford 1-2-3 for Bathurst would be nice! He muttered something in Latin about the Italian Stallion in the Datsun being a contender, and the young Simona was looking good!

Thanks to Speedcafe for the regular updates, and look forward to watching the recording sometime over the next few weeks.

Congratulations to Davey Reynolds, Luke Youlden and team Erebus on a fantastic result. Nice to see Scott Pye and Warren Luff get on the podium for Walkinshaw/Andretti motorsport.

It would have been great to see James Moffat get a win or podium in 2017, seeing it was the 40th anniversary of the Moffat 1-2 in 1977.

Nostalgia is a funny thing, remember being at my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary in Melbourne in 1977, when somebody turned the TV, and we all watched the last few laps of Bathurst as the mighty Falcon Hardtops finished 1-2.

Australia and the world have changed a lot in that time, a suburban house in a good suburb in Melbourne was under $50, 000, my uncle always drove Ford Fairlane's, my cousin had just purchased herself a new Ford Escort at the age of 21 with cold hard cash from her first year teaching job-no HECS and guaranteed employment, the little colour TV in the corner of the lounge room showing the great race-no VCR in those days!

There wasn't any rain in '71... I was there @ skyline... A FANTASTIC day!
(if you weren't Bill Brown, or the official behind the Armco)

AGM & the Phase III GTHO were just too good on the day!

(the only concern was the beer carton blocking the air intake for many of the closing laps)

In terms of a Top 10 shootout at Bathurst in the rain, Kevin Bartlett beat Dick Johnson to pole by 2.4 seconds in 1981

Dave Reynolds mentioned during RPM today, seeing a naked woman!

Apparently a few other drivers saw the same vision during the race.

So was a decent trip with my old man. Friday Night Live was pretty cool at how we were allowed on the track. (scrawled a tribute to Peter Brock and Jason Richards on the pit wall and pole and #8 grid boxes) Caught up with Crompo, Brad Jones, John Bowe (who was in near tears when he recognised me as the guy who did a shirt up for Jason Richards' charity and how he told me how JR's family have the shirt in the lounge room and invited me to visit and meet the family in person as they always wanted to acknowledge a fan and friend of JR who went out of his way to help them out in their time of need) and a few others over the weekend. On Sunday sweet talked into getting some time in a corporate suite with Red Bull Holden when it started to rain but eventually went to the top and almost drowned so spent some time with fellow 10-10ther Armageddon and his family. All in all, pretty good weekend, almost the best, (2011 and meeting up with JR would always be the best Bathurst IMO) bring on the 12hr.

One of my biggest regrets with regards to Jason Richards, was not approaching him when I had the chance to, at the last Muscle Car Masters he attended. He'd only just stepped out of the Le Mans Porsche, grinning from ear to ear, and thanking those who'd given him the opportunity. At the time, I felt he deserved that moment more than I did, and that I'd track him down another time...
