FFmygale should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Yet despite this, Silverstone, where you struggle to see more than 1/3rd of the track at most, has become the Key FF1600 event of the year. To me it proves that it is not the venue that counts but the ability of the organiser to create an 'event' or an atmosphere that people want to take part in.

It's very easy to go on moaning about it but (and I am guilty of this) but it would be great if somehow we could figure out a way of re-creating some of the old atmosphere at the brands Festival and get more cars out.

I guess the easy option is to get James Beckett to do some moonlighting!
Just realised that I have forgotten to mention the fact that Brands, to me, is actually a more challenging track to race on - which is also a key point.

Having gone to watch the Festival pretty much every year since 1994 and after keep saying "next year I'll do it", I finally decided to give it a go last year. I have to say, I never found it to be the experience I was hoping it was going to be. I have now give it a go and won't be in a rush to do it again. Whilst the circuit was great, I didn't find Brands a Competitor friendly circuit in terms of it's layout and paddock plan. Akin to the changing programme that is indicitive of a BRSCC programme, it just didn't add up to an enjoyable experience. Silverstone on the other hand was something else. Masses of room in the garages meant that you could deal with any weather out on the track, so long as you had a dry base in between. The organisation is second to none with the competitor put to the fore of the organisers plans.

No, if I was to choose one after season event every year, it would be the WHT.............

That said, not this year unfortunately. New baby = no time to work on car. I dare say I'll be there watching everyone else having fun though(!)

I think possibly they've just put the link in there ready and not created/uploaded the pdf file yet. Not seen a list - wonder why they're leaving it late!?

Does the testing go through MSV, or do the BRSCC rent the track and get the money from testing?

Would be interesting to get a list of people that are not entering this year and for why.
Me: stupid timetable, lack of promotion, no previous winner "decision"

Anyone else?

Justin, that was only going to be funny if Miller rose to it!

MSV are running the test days, book with them directly.

Timetable is only lsightly dafter than previous years, mainly due to nothing on Friday, but if I am honest the average clubman doesn't test so he can just turn up fri night/sat morning. And if you are a serious competitor (Medina, West-tec etc) then waiting around a day is no big deal.

It has clearly been altered to help out clubmen who want a two day meeting (they do make up the majority) and it is not a bad idea.

Your quite correct there.

The only problem you will have if you turn up on Friday evening/ Saturday morning is getting somewhere in the paddock...........................

Just had BRSCC on the phone, they are now accepting entries from Past winners.

The quote is "they have now seen sense"

Whatever the reason for this reversal, it should be applauded, the BRSCC have at least acknowledged they had made a poor decision taken the flak and changed it! Roll on the festival.

A bit late considering the events only a week away the Brscc always seem to try to balls up a good event and then try to put things right a week before DOH

Agreed. It shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. I think the quote about only having 10 cars entered might have been closer to the mark.

Too little too late.

I was with Ian yesterday when we heard the latest figure and it was a lot less than 30 but they did expect it to be in the mid 30's by the end of the week.

If James has to "buy" Silverstone space now, maybe he can "buy" a slot from JP to run the WHT at Brands and with his passion and magic we would have a Festival that matched the good old days. Do we need both? Could the Festival not just be the Walter Hays Festival run my a person who has the drivers at heart but still manages to put on a good event.
