F3 @ Croft - on TV yet?

Just wondering if anyone had seen the Croft British F3 on Channel 4 yet?

Ive been scouring the schedules on weekends on CH4 and nothing yet!

Have I missed it?

I'm not sure if it's been on C4 yet, I taped the Motors TV coverage though (was it 1hr? The prog I saw was the usual 30 mins). The Donington rounds were on C4 late on a weekday night IIRC? I think C4 may be yet to show it, as I usually scour the TV listings too.

The F3 from croft was on in the early hours one night last week on channel 4. Was a good show. As I was on at Hawthorn, was nice to see all the action from the other parts of the circuit.

I think it was Croft that was on a while back (just after the Monza WTCC race on C4) it was on at some unearthly hour of the morning. (I'm pretty much 100% it was Croft that was on - it was the one were it rained/hailed and everybody was sliding around all over the place).

Yeah, the the Croft C4 programme is history. The longer programme on Motors is actually better if you can get to see it. I think there are a couple of transmissions still to go. 00:30 on the 29th and 05:00 on the 30th. Not very sociable hours, but worth seeing if you can tape them.

The C4 programme of Croft is going out at 04:05am on Thursday June 2nd. they seem to have become interested in bikes and the WTCC, which is why the F3 times are not great.

Take it you mean the C4 of THRUXTON? F3 is certainly listed on the Wed June 1st page of 'Radio Times' In their world a day runs 6am to 6am!

Yes and no. Yes, I was wrong to say Croft (having just said it was history!) but no, I should not have said Thruxton - it's actually Knockhill! As a guideline, there will always be about a week at best between the race meeting and the TV programme.

According to my info the Thruxton programme will be going out at 07:30am on Sunday, June 19th, a much better time, if rather delayed, but the next round is not until the following weekend at Castle Combe, so I guess that's one reason.

You're right, TV people work to a different 24 hour clock than the rest of us...

My ex is Director of External Programme Aquisitions at C4 and she tells me the ratings for F3 and many of the other national motorsport championships are so poor, that the only viewing slots they merit are when the night watchman and his dog are watching in the wee hours of the morning.

Shame isn't it? We all moan when F3 etc is not on terrestrial TV and when it is C4 get tiny viewing figures for it as a reward...

I thought they may have even dropped it this year but fortunately they haven't.

I hope the number of people recording it will convince them to continue the coverage in 2006 because I would assume that if it's not on C4 then Motors TV wouldn't have it as well.

Sorry, I was getting confused... turns out I did tape C4's coverage after all (hence the 30 mins). Thought I'd taped it from Motors, but got mixed up because I taped it from Channel 4 on the digibox, as we lose our terrestrial signal in bad weather...

That's great that Motors are showing one-hour highlights, will look forward to them after getting back from this weekend at Thruxton
