Well that's something for the teams and organisers to sort out, rather than bringing in another, pointless, series.

KB here again banging on the Old Superfund Drum . But he is right, i think it is to late for the series now. They should have carried on with he Superfund Euro F3000 championship.

I don't think F Superfund is going to "upset the applecart".

We have GP2, which runs exclusively in Europe, and 3000 ProSeries and F3000 Italia, which run almost exclusively in Italy.

Formula Superfund is going to run in Asia, where there is currently no series (outside Japan) running at this level.

I hadn't realised that.

It's a more sensible move if that's the case - but will it have a negative impact on Nippon - which has struggled for grids of late

Interestingly, I notice Mathias Lauda now has big Superfund sponsorship on his GP2 car.

He had it in the Superfund-backed series - I hadn't noticed it on his GP2 car before this weekend - maybe I wasn't looking properly

That's interesting - where have you heard that? That would make far more sense now, to focus on an untapped market rather than compete for drivers with GP2/Renault World Series/F3000 Italia/3000 Pro Series. Combined with Formula BMW and F3, Asia would then have a complete ladder system.

Superfund has been back on Lauda's car since Monaco.

Saw this in the press some time ago-nothing since. When they cancelled the first round they said they would be making an anouncement in May-well its the last day..A winter series would clash with A1GP but would make more sense than another european 'F2' ?

Indeed this would make much more sense, lets just hope that something does happen. Would be a shame not to have this series at all, IMO. Something to help pass the winter months lol.
