Race In French Classic F3
I am looking for a teammate to join us in racing in the French classic F3 series from Sept 2004 in Dijon and/or for the 2005 season.
The website is for the series is www.f3classic.com which does have an English section although it has not been updated in a while. The eligibility for cars goes just beyond the English series and includes Ralt RT3's and Dallara 382's. The races include Spa, Dijon, Clemont and normally the street race at Pau and the weekend normally includes a days pre race testing at 30 - 50 euros together with decent track time on race day and very full grids. The costs should not be a great deal more expensive than competing in the English races and would certainly suit someone who likes to enjoy his racing weekends hopefully in good weather. To discuss further please PM me. Kickstart |

Hi Kickstart,
I will be doing some rounds in a Chevron B38 I have just bought. My Uncle already races in the Championship also in a B38 and raves about it. He won the race a Pau last year. He is off to Spa in the morning for the race this weekend. I will put a bet on that he will win.... I would be keen to see what you are offering. |

Did ask UCLAN to run me but it is a bit of an issue with the long travels. Students don't do much work as it is!!!

The guy who we run in TGP has an old Cheveron F3, he might be interested in joining you. I think he wants to do some less intense driving as the F1 car is getting a bit much

Well I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who thinks race in France might be a whole heap of fun.
This years calendar is/was: Nogaro, Le Vigeant, Spa, Magny Cours, Charade, Brands Hatch, Ledenon and Dijon. The chap who runs my Formula Renault (Nick) in the UK has a beautiful Dallara 382 which I am either going to rent from him for next seasons racing or else buy it from him, if he will agree to sell it. What we are planning to do is to have Nick look after, certainly the Dallara, and transport the cars to each race and then run them at the race meetings. What we are looking for is an owner/driver of an F3 car who wants to share the cost of transporting the cars and the cost of running the cars at the meetings. However a sense of Joie de vie is essential. From a practical point of view in order to make the transporting work - Nick Edginton - the chap who looks after my car www.ercr.co.uk would at the very least have to store any teammates car in order to get the transporting to work. I am sure that Nick would also be happy to source a suitable F3 car for someone who wanted to race and/or rebuild and/or set up and maintain this type of car. This is not meant to be any type of mega bucks historic racing, rather a way of enjoying racing in well turned out cars that are mechanically reliable. If anyone wishes to talk in more detail then please PM me. |

Its the sister Fred Opert car to the Marcus Pye/Simon Hadfield car and was originally driven by many drivers inc Alain Prost. After Opert, Paul Gibson bought both these cars to run in Northern Libre. Unsure of the history until Crowson bought it from a guy in France.
