I was just about to say the same thing. I think we just put two and two together. Sounds like one of those great looking lotuses possible powered by AER? Who owns AER? it could be a V6? AER is going to supply V6 engines for FIA GP3.

Multimatic said they would have a 2014 P1 but I haven;'t heard about any customers ...

The AER news is fantastic. I'd love to see an Adesa/AER car---assuming Adesa can still build and sell the car after whatever happened with its Lotus cars.

It is getting to be time for final contracts to be inked so constructors can get the cars ion track for testing for the 2104 season. If I don;t here somehting more defnitie from some of the many possible P1 builders ... well, I am ready for a great season with Porsche, Toyota, Audi rebellion and Strakka.

My understanding is that Kodewa plan to sell customer Lotus P2 (and P1?) cars and have their 'works' team in P1, it seems Adess have a new and independent customer LMP project and both parties seem to be trying to prevent each other's plans from coming to fruition. There's a real possibility that this legal war will be long enough to prevent both sides from having anything ready for 2014.

Zytek hinted that they are ready to produce the 'full package' (chassis+hybrid drivetrain) for P1 or F1... provided someone else is ready to fund that.

I was told by a Zytek guy that they focus on hybrid powertrain and not chassis right now. Makes sense for me, enough chassis around but hardly a customer engine for P1

Precisely my point. Teams have at least 4 others to choose from but you seemingly stated Lola would be running when I pointed out the exclusive Toyota engine deal is likely gone since there will be no Lola's running. Thats why I asked

IMO Zytek is loosing the interest on prototype chassis, maybe they see a better and more profitable market on hybrid systems.

2014 Honda Indy engine will be twin turbo

HPD will convert their Indy motor to a twin turbo layout for 2014 following a rule change. Will they run the twin turbo motor in LMP1 as well?

I am pretty certain--I would think two smaller turbos would give better throttle response and thus fuel economy. I think Honda went with a single bigger turbo to have more top end on the big ovals, and WEC doesn't race n a lot of superspeedways.

interesting to see the single turbo route, for the same reasons audi did this makes the intake charge temperature much lower, therefore increasing the density of the air and hence more air burnt = fuel economy, it will probably be a bit laggy, but it looks like they have positioned the turbo like 2014 F1 regs, so they will have the option to install a small motor-generator to spin the turbo up to speed (anti-lag) and also generate a bit of power when running steady state.......not to mention all the other anti-lag options available........otherwise it looks the part to me........I'm sure the single turbo route will also really tidy up the aero signature too, giving almost un-interrupted flow out the back of the car over the diffuser.

I'm not an engine specialist but how high air density can help to save fuel? If you get more air you need to inject more fuel to keep "alpha" close to 14,7. In other case it would just detonate there.
