For those talking about Class 1, the elephant in the room is the highly advanced four cylinder turbo it needs...
As for '17 GT500 pace at Suzuka, this was predicted anyway probably 5-7 tenths slower at most other tracks |

Worth bringing up again that the difference in lap time for Fuji in May and Fuji in August is up to a second, so something similar probably applies to Suzuka in August and October.

Is it just me or the NSX looks weird? It looks like an SUV next to the Lexus

Kind of ironic, since the road car is a proper sleek mid-engined supercar

GT-R doesn't look much different other than the grille being changed like the street car.
NSX has always been pretty tall in the front, but the LC500 is now much closer in size to the Nissan than the RC-F was. It appears that for whatever reason the production NSX has taller fenders than the concept car, so they've been stuck with that on the new race car and it looks pretty absurd. Feel bad for them having to race a car designed by people who only seem to know how to do crossovers and minivans. |

The nsx designer is Michelle Christensen who is only 34. She also did the Acura Precision Concept. I think the car looks awkward because of the vrille shape and the new rules reducing the splitter size. The Lexus looks the best imo.

Or could it be the chassis regs, which are biased towards front engined cars?

That's nothing to do with the front end of the car looking so high.

As much as I want Honda to win races for next year, the 2017-spec NSX GT500 car looked bulky than the production one.

According to SGT official website,
GT-R used 2017 spec modified engine, and LC500 and NSX-GT used 2016 spec (version 2) engine for the Autopolis test. And today's driver: GT-R(Quintarelli, Matsuda), LC500 (Tachikawa, Ito), NSX-GT (Tsukakoshi, Kogure). http://supergt.net/news/single/16615 |

There a lap total from the second day? I think I saw on twitter the Lexus only did 6 laps in the wet.

That RCF looks amazing. Not sure if it's the paint scheme or what. In contrast, the NSX....
