"Too many events in the Sydney market" was teh explanation Mr Cochrane shared on RPM... even though all that was really done was to swap Winton for PI....

Good move - great venue for the final - remember if IMG promote this they will set the ticket prices.

It was funny how TC just neglected to mention that Winton was dropped. I know it was obvious when PI was shown. But for him just to totally ignore and not mention I think was a bit arrogant.
Another track shafted, another pay day for Avesco. Hmmmmm yeah Australian motorsport, who'd change it

Loved it when he said that finishing in Victoria is a great place for the series to finish.

Didn't they have this with Sandown?
Didn't they say the same thing about New South Wales and Eastern Creek?

The only reason Phillip Island is on the calendar this year is simply because TC wanted to have something 'new' to announce, otherwise the calendar is the same as last year and his grand plans for massive expansion and new events is starting to look a little ordinary.

Phillip Island returning to the calendar after the troubles last year when they were voted by the teams as the worst round and the lowest spectator attendance, in my opinion would not be anything for AVESCO to be puffing their chest out about.

not to mention drivel drivetime aka The Panelbeaters.

P.S a suggestion for Crompton & Jones , consider imbibing substantial amounts of VB before going on, it will not harm the shows quality - suggestion for Greg Rust, find some other pro's to share air time with.

UNBELIEVABLE

What is going on!!!

First AVESCO muscle in on the Austin 7 Historic date at Winton that was used for decades. Then they drop the Winton V8 round.

Now they want the Island Magic date which is probably the biggest Historic Meeting held in the country.

WHY?

Something is on the nose here
.......

Since when has Island Magic been a historic meeting?

Or the largest.. You would need to double the Island magic fields to get near to some of the Historic meetings, iirc Eastern Creek and PI have both had 440+ entry meetings.

Avesco **** me. They seem to have no respect for anyone else, competitors, officials... One day it will bite them back.

Avesco also stole Mallala's historics date to run the Adelaide race.

Just part of their plan to wipe out any interest in other forms of motorsport in this country.

And unfortunately they will still get the knuckle draggers going, who do not care about any other form of motorsport.

If those tracks didnt want the V8's then they wouldnt change the dates to suit them.
Some of you peps should climb down of the high horse and start looking at the tracks and there management not just AVESCO.
Its a real world out there and the tracks are a big enough to say no if they dont wont the V8's but me thinks they want shows that bring the punter's in (and cash) and not just be a place for people to race.

I believe, correct me if I am wrong, that Winton changed the date for the Austin 7 Historic meeting last year. It would appear that the tracks just have to do as instructed.

Dirk instructed by whom ?
Once again if the tracks dont want the V8's there is nobody forcing them to have a V8 event.
