HSCC brands 13/09/09
I enjoyed the short circuit in a formula ford.
Saloon's race was amazing what did everyone else think of the day? Anyone get any good pictures? |

Great day it was. And welcome to 10-10ths Rob.
What car were you running in? Only negative point were the two separate FF2000 crashes (on my post). |

It was a good day in saloons, just a shame our host's Alfa disembowelled itself part way through. At least I got to practice my starts, and pretty much got it right both times. it's only taken all season!

Shame to see the Alfa go up in smoke. That really does have to be one of the biggest blow ups I've seen for a very long time!
And yes, welcome to Tenths Rob. Some photos of you I think... If not I'm sure I do somewhere else! |

I was right behind Mark when his Alfa let him down - quite a scary moment as I didn't know where he was but was afraid that if I slowed too much, those following might not be able to see me - fortunately, nobody hit anyone else and those that were caught out by the oil were able to regain the track OK.
Had a great time in the restart following Dan in the A40 and hopefully learning a few things. Last edited by simonb87; 23 Sep 2009 at 12:44. Reason: typo |

Funny thing race cars, ran a treat at Malory, no major changes for Brands, handling was awful in the morning, quite difficult to keep in a straight line, and the afternoon spoke for itself. Felt very bad for my fellow competitors with the race being red flagged, hopefully it didn't spoil things too much. The car went from ok with a smidge of smoke in the cabin to complete white out within a couple of seconds, I remember thinking if I go straight there should be some marshals and no barrier to hit. The marshals, as always were super, though did struggle to get the pin out of the fire extinguisher, but thankfully did, and ‘put me out’. Our customers had a fabulous day and thoroughly enjoyed the saloon race, and many thanks go to the competitors that spent some time with them, the HSCC for allowing the day and to Marcus for giving a very informative talk and hosting visits to the commentary box. Super pictures Jon... |
