Plum Pudding sports & saloon races

There's a couple of races for sports & saloons at Mallory on Boxing Day this year - two races for £100 - http://www.graduates.org.uk/2007/docs/Plum_07_Regs.doc

Entries for this are into double figures but there is still room for more. It is a real bargain and a great chance to race in front of one of the biggest crowds you will find anywhere all year. So far there's everything from a Seat Cupra to a Morris Minor with lots in between, so whatever you have you will find someone to race with.

A number of people have asked for Sports and Saloon races at the Plum Pudding meeting, so let's hope this is well supported.

Will this be happening next year? I'd love to do it, but I'm just about to put in for my first race licence to start 2008. I've passed the ARDS test and the medical, just have to take a photo and send away, though of course I won't be licenced for another 6 days (until the new year).
Hope everyone has fun! I might pop down as a spectator if I can find anyone to go with, how much is it?

I imagine the races will happen next year but it is a bit early to be certain.

It doesn't seem as if the Caterham's are as well supported, which is a shame. The quote below is taken from the forum on the Graduates website,
http://www.graduates.org.uk
Quote:

Boxing Day - "Plum Pudding" races at Mallory Park: Only a dozen entries so far and BARC Midlands are questioning the viability of our races (two for £100!). To ensure that it goes ahead, we need more entries now! Please don't put it off any longer! If you intend to enter, please drop me a line so I can at least tell them how many more entries to expect. Cars from 2007 Academy are also invited, so if you have any contacts there, please let them know!
Nick Frost chairman at graduates dot org dot uk on Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at 11:15:48
Hopefully a few more entries will materialise. The more car races at the meeting, the better!

The update I have had on that is that there is a few more in the pipeline on the Caterham side.

You could do it this year crofty. All you need to do is apply for a 2007 licence and away you go. The MSA will turn it round in good time - talk to them to make sure.
I had 10 first timers at Anglesey last weekend - at least two of whom only took their ARDS Test the week before. [one of which took a 3rd and win in his first meeting and the Driver of the Day award to boot.
It depends whether you can stomach paying for a licence to use it only once.
BTW the two signatures you could get can be used in 2008.

Thanks for the advice all, Looks like I won't get to Mallory on B-Day, not even as a spectator, grr. Hope you all have fun though, I'll be on the grid next year though, see you all then!

I'm sure there is - give the secretary of the meeting, Noreen Ward, a call. Her details are on the link in the first post.

I understand that the grid positions will be in order of receipt of entries, with positions reversed for race 2. Any idea what the order will be, based on entries received to date?

Well with your Tardis you can chose if you would like to be on pole in the first race, or the second.

Is there a little practice in the morning? Or even the day before?

A capacity entry for the Sports and Saloons and 21 Caterhams - this is excellent.

If anyone wants to volunteer to lapchart for me in the (warm, dry) commentary box, drop me a PM!

Do we know when sign on is yet, or even the timetable? I've not had the final instructions yet; Christmas post no doubt.
