Yeah I agree. Nobody had really heard of Subaru before Colin McRae won the WRC for them in his Impreza. Perhaps Proton can achieve the same in the BTCC. Cant see the production Impian gaining cult status like the Impreza Turbo though...

That's exactly the reason why Proton will be competing. If they can show up MG, Vauxhall and Honda they will establish themselves as respectable cars.
