With his TRS experience, Ilott might surprise you all. In qualifying pace he already matches Stroll, Maini or Ferrucci. Once he becomes more reliable in races, he can fight for points in FIA F3. Probably the same goes for Lorandi but he will need more time to adapt.

It seems like, the KFJ level karters (aged 14-15) are going to F4 while the KF level karters (15-16) can easily aim for a higher category, like F3 or FR2.0. This is the system this year and if Lorandi and Ilott will be good enough, this won't change. I can already see Martijn van Leeuwen or Max Fewtrell aiming for a 2016 FIA F3 seat.

A good driver is a good driver, they will handle and lap fast with any given car after some kms of testing. But that's not really the point. They need to perfect their race skills, they need to mature. This fast tracking is simply ridiculous and it needs to stop.

I might be wrong, but I think this is due to age restrictions of each category. For the same reason, under 16 drivers did one season of French F4, who allowed 15 year old drivers, before jumping to FR2.0 or F3.

For a long time when someone did an unexpectedly big jump in his/her career (Visser, Verstappen), I felt disappointed because that was not the way. But every driver is different in terms of how fast they improve, adapt and mature, which is why we shouldn't put everyone in the same box.

If a talented driver is fortunate enough to have normal backing behind him/her, they can decide where they go, which is probably the more optimal decision than those with less cash are forced to do.

Well, with all of the hype surrounding this series right now, Mahaveer Raghunathan, who finished the Italian F4 series in 12th last season, has been confirmed at Motopark alongside Markus Pommer and Sam MacLeod. Not the most inspiring signing for what is otherwise a great line-up.

I think he'd attempted to move to Japan this season in Super Formula from what I've heard. This tweet he posted yesterday is quite interesting though - wonder what news that could be?
