Fantasy Race Meeting
Ok some people might have seen this in Christmas Issue of Autosport, but if you didn't they had a feature in which they create a Fantasy Race Meeting. I thought it might be fun to do something along the same lines here on Ten-tenths. OK the rules are quite stright forward all you have to do is create a meeting with about 10 races in total. You also have to pick a track to run it on. Here is my fantasy meeting
Track:- Brands Hatch Indy 1:- Legends 2:- Mighty Mini's 3:- Heritage Grand Touring Challenge 4:- V8 Brutes 5:- Clio's 6:- Formula Vee's 7:- Caterham's 8:- BRDC Historic Sports Cars 9:- Group C Sportscars and to Finish the Day 10:- The 10/10ths Allcomers' Scratch Race (basiclly anything goes) There you go they are my thought over to you guys.......... PS:- Mod's if this is in the wrong place for this, then you can move it to the correct place. |

On second thoughts how about a race for novices in standard road going sportscars of the same era to remind everyone of the gulf of difference as a taster to the above

Ascars at Knockhill!! In the wet!!!
Ok, only kidding. The track would have to be Oulton Park (full circuit). The line-up would combine the best of FIA GT, Gold Cup and national series... Race 1 (20 laps) - PCGB Pirelli Porsche Cup circa 1998 (i.e. when it was still for all Porsche models, before Porsche GB realised the 993 was quicker than the 996... ) Race 2 (15 laps) - 1950s/60s Grand Prix - Maseratis, Ferraris, Lotii Race 3 (10 laps) - XR Challenge - XR2s, XR3s, nothing like a bit of banger racing for light relief... Race 4 - (1 hour) FIA GT Open (all classes 1995 to present) - Porkers, Macs, Saleens, Vipers, Ferraris, Bentleys, prototypes, preferably without 2002's carnage at Nickerbrook... Race 5 - (20 laps) 1980s/90s British Touring cars - the golden age of tin tops, from Rouse's Cosworths, through Volvo estates to the Audi Quattros and Nissan Primeras. Race 6 - (1 hour) The BIG one - 1960s GTs - Astons, E Types, 250 GTOs, 275s, Mustangs... the ultimate multi-million pound race, the highlight of the best years of the Coys Historic Festival at Silverstone... Given two endurance races, I think six'll do... Besides, can't think of any more. Last edited by garcon; 8 Jan 2004 at 14:17. |

Suggestion from a colleague (it's ok he's a Jag driver)...
MG Metros and Maestros - left hand side of the grid clockwise, right hand side anti-clockwise, using Fosters to make it a figure of eight circuit... P.S. Maisie, can I borrow your camper van...? |

Thruxton or full Oulton Park circuit
To fit it all in the day is never ending time or or until i run out of races to run! Or alternatively and more practically held over a weekend!! Race 1: 1981/82 period Tricentrol race with (yes folks a time machine has appeared, sorry!?) Race 2: SCV8 (ok hasn't started yet but reckon it'll be ace fun) Race 3: 70's superloon race featuring big Gerry and Bertha and all those other hybrids Race 4: Big banger modern style FIA/British GT race (i agree with earlier point about allowing all cars since 96) Held over sprint type format of an hour with optional driver change! Race 5: A vintage British F3 season round - cos everyone trys! Race 6: A proper F3000 race (circa 1989 or 1998/9!) Race 7: Can-Am/Supersports with a massively oversubscribed and terribly noisy grid. Race 8: 1960's Historic saloons Race 9: BRDC Historic Sports Race 10: Historic Formula Ford Race 11: STP Modsports circa 1977-80! Race 12: 750mc stock hatch - bound to provide some antics Race 13: Uniroyal Prod saloons from 1985 - massive entry and ovee the top battling. Race 14: Maylfower MG Trophy - more antics guarenteed! Race 15: 8 clubs allcomers type scratch race, maybe with a strat delay according to performance. |
