Slipstick should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mallory 23/6

Got an email from BARC saying this meeting is down to 5 races....first qualifying at 10.30 and last race timed to finish at 4pm. It hardly seems worth getting out of bed for. I was looking forward to the karts which now aren't racing.

Anyone know what's going on ? If this is the way future meetings are going to be at Mallory with all the noise problems etc. it really will be in trouble.

Steve

Oh.... that sounds ermmm good. Just hope that there is a reasonable amount of entries in the other races.

The reduced number of races is nothing to do with the noise problems. Lack entries in the F-Fords and the Karts have a clashing meeting elsewhere again leading to a lack of entries.
There are over 20 entries for at least 3 of the races!
Please note that sign on is now at 09:00, which gives you plenty of time for breakfast!

Don't worry, I'm not the sort to cancel.

I think the 5 races are (I can't however find Finals or entry list)

SaxMax x2 15min (Juniors I think)

Max5 x2 25min

CNC Heads Sports Saloon Series 1x 20min +1 lap

From past experience I would think the Sports Saloon and Max5 will have a good entry, and the SaxMax to be around the 6 to 9 figure as it is a Junior series I believe.

Whatever Nina and I are looking forward to it, and I am hoping to catch up wiht an old friend out on post

Oh I'll be there, Mallory is still my favourite circuit....but these are generally worrying times at the poor old "Friendly Circuit" .

Well, our first "MX5 Experience" together was over 7 years ago!

Steve - Mallory is also one of my favourite circuits, both to marshal and drive. Nina loves it as a circuit to race as it looks "simple" but is actually quite technical, and also very quick indeed.

I am hoping it is saved!

Ok, I'll let you have that one....

Slipstick, I know what you mean. Gone are the days it seems.

Let's just enjoy it in the meantime!

I had my very first race there, sometime in the last century. It wasn't very quick that day but I fear that was more to do with me than the circuit .

I really don't want to imagine it closing.

Suspect that you were quicker than the MR2 - it really isn't a fast car.

In those days I used to race a roadgoing (literally, I drove to and from the circuits with my tent in the boot) MG Midget. You don't get much slower than that .
