But don't the millennials that drive these things on the road usually raise the ride height rather than lower it?

Not always!

I dunno about the culture in 'Straya, but here in the USA there's just as many people who lower and slam their pickups as those who raise them.

Not many true 2WD utes on the market these days.

They're pretty much all 4WD, or at least have the same ride height as one.

Don't forget full length racks loaded with an Kings awning, hi lift jack and a set of Max Traxs. Add in 12 led light bars, a few FXD stickers and a set of fake beadlock rims.

That's just to drive through the suburbs to work....

So a Rallycross-esque series using Superutes set up more for the off-road sections would be road relevant (so to speak) and potentially quite popular - Rallycross seems to be growing steadily, consumers in this country definitely prefer their utes in "off-road spec", there's drifting, there's jumping..

Simple, schedule the races after the stadium super trucks, and leave the jumps in place. Problem solved.

How many 'Stadium Super Truck' events has Toby Price competed in ?
I would expect Price to be a gnarly competitor in the Super Utes.

Surprised Paul Morris hasn't grabbed him, and kept at the series.

I wish this series all the best. It could set a precedent as to how 'we' get around the whole issue of SUVs and Utes taking a majority of road car sales, and how this relates to motorsport activities. Or, it could be a massive flop.

Hope it's the former.

What a horrible "spectacle", it's just like watching traffic drive along your local motorway... Gosh, are these things slow!

Hard to see it being anything other than a massive flop.

At least the Thai SuperPick-Ups are loud and look somewhat lowered and racey, but these aren't even that!

Supercars seemingly too self-interested to look at other series that have developed existing products...

A proper low racey car, spool diff in the back... It would actually be useful for training drivers as a lower rung to the Kumho & Dunlop Super2 series.
Plenty of iconic Barra inline sixes around to slot into the engine bay, complete with turbo.

What a vastly superior product the Argentinians have put together: https://youtu.be/kqTwNTY9jIQ?t=2m25s lovely rasp from the straight-six!

really, you can make any for of determination of the spectacle at day that is set to test parity using a 1 minute video.

Sorry, that an idiotic statement, based on nothing. Be open minded and wait to you see them on the track

and the black smoke in the thai super pick ups, didnt see any of that here

Well it only took 10 seconds to work out the Argentian TC Pick Up are a whole lot of fun. Great bit of kit in detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wsHUm0xgn28 and more consistent with the spaceframe philosophy of the regular series Supercars. Not sure why the utes should be production-based?

I refused to pay the inflated prices for a Supercars event. State and club racing and hillclimbs are much better value.

Seemingly due to the use of particulate filters (and catalytic converters?) in the exhaust that are therefore making the utes really quiet. :/

Great, but you are comparing one series with one set of aims and rules to anotehr series with different aims and rules

No one requires you to pay, thats why it is on FTA.

Interesting vehicle placement in that photo. Took a while to spot that it wasn't a 10-wheeler. My first thought was 'that'll never go round the Tassie hairpin...'
