Touring Cars at Mondello

I was planning where and when I am going to be this year last night and I am thinking about coming over to touring cars at Mondello in July.

If I do come out I would be planning on flying over, as it cheaper then a ferry £50 return from my local airport, which is a bit of bargin.

But I do have a couple of questions:- Where is the best place to stay, is it best to stay in Dublin and drive in or stay near the track. I really want to stay in Dublin because some non-motor racing friends would be coming as the weekend would also double up as my birthday party, as my birthday is a few day before.

How far is the track from Dublin and can you get there by public transport or would it be easier to hire a car?

Public transport is meant to be difficult, i think you can get as far as Naas by bus, then still have 10 miles to go. Its 25 miles from dublin, easycar would do a car for about 50 quid that you could pick up at the airport

Public transport is really not an option. Particularly on the Sunday as some of the services don't run and the rest are on Sunday service.

To be honest, even if you stay near the circuit, you'll still need a car.

You'd drive to Mondello in 45 minutes from the centre of Dublin city (assuming it's the weekend, not rush hour).

Bewleys Hotel and Newlands Cross is a popular hotel, it's outside the city on the main road to Naas/Mondello and isn't too bad. You really will need a car though as public transport is a total nightmare.

When we were over for the Rallycross we stayed in Naas (I think it was the Harbour Hotel? - something like that anyway). That was pretty reasonable, we did have our own transport though, I odn't think public transport to Modello is viable is it?

Thanks for that I have just been looking at flights again £9.99 each way + tax which dirt cheap. One or Two things need to happen before I can book my flights but all being well I will be there.

If you fancy self catering for 4 people I have details of a place 10 minutes from the circuit.
