Good news for Daytona, AF Corse will run a GTLM car in addition to a GTD car (if this wasn't already announced?) |

I think it looks good, but so did the last one. Not sure I see the C7 in it much, but maybe the rear?

Honestly, I can't really get excited about a new set of decorative features for a design that's over ten years old. |

Not exciting, but it looks good. What it isn't, is anything like a Corvette. I'm honestly not sure why that looks more like a Corvette than the R18 looks like and Audi.

As for the new Dp I can't really tell what it looks like because the actual Dp is covered with fake body molds. |

No John Pew bought the car. If NASCAR bought it, it would be a Corvette DP and running under Action Express.

Hmm I think the front wheel arches are more higher and less sloped. And the wheel well near the back of the front tire is more carved in. So I assume more downforce gains.

Elkins's gang has already been performance balancing this new bodywork in the wind tunnel against the others so it doesn't matter what the shapes might be

The C7 looks fantastic, as does the MSR Ligier. Love the stylized 60 on the fin.

Sure that the C7 Corvertte looks great, but I feel conflicted that the DP guys are getting more attention than the GTE Corvette Racing team.
On the other hand, the Michael Shank Honda/Ligier looks good. Of course, I wish he could buy a ARX-04 someday. |

I don't think so the C7.R had a huge unveiling at a major international auto show the DP only got some renderings. They didn't even bother doing at shoot at Daytona like last time.

This is something I that just baffles me. Why do they BoP prototype chassis? They're prototypes, not a spec class. They're not supposed to be equal.

On paper, the IMSA is making sure that all prototype can have a fair chance of winning.
But in practice (and combine that with shoddy track officiating), only DP teams win most of the time. |

This is the same group that BoP'd engine torque and HP curves. It's so nobody can engineer anything better than anyone else so all of the cars always cross the finish line 10 abreast each race.

Let's not forget the NASCAR mentality of producing artificial close finishes, where they throw random yellow flags to bunch up the field!
Honestly, I would like to see a team make a prototype that they made it slow on purpose... Let's see if Mr. Elkins would screw that up! |

The restricted development allowed is a lot like the waivers in GT. Do you really want them to be granting changes just on a whim without regard for the consequences? If they're going to be restricting development, which means not allowing everything whenever anyone asks, it would be better to aim for balance with what's allowed than enforcing an imbalance, no?
Sure, the ideal world would have every team with the funds to individually design and build their cars from scratch, with new developments for every race, if not every session, but that's not where we are. If the series is going to have its thumb on the development scales, would you rather they aim for balance or just say, "@#$% it. Whatever."? |

The driver caliber in GTLM these days is out of this world...
