Is there anything out there that says what specific modifications have been made to the Barber track for the Indy Cars? Also, why do other event pages for this track with other series list the lap at 2.3mi, which the ICS site lists the lap at 2.38mi?

What is with you and potholes, Jag? You seem to be the one who is really stuck in a rut.

The IRL should give permanent, contiguous pitboxes to the teams. All Ganassis, then all Penskes, then all Andrettis, etc.

Not sure why they list it at 2.3, maybe they didnt want to go further into technical distance, Im not sure.

But the track is 2.38 miles long. Barber's homepage has the track at 2.38 as well.

Marco Andretti is one to watch here. I wouldn't count him out for the win.

A lot slower than spring testing, seems like more than just people taking it easy.

Firestone didn't bring a different tire, did they?

Looks like a large crowd in the trees, especially for a Friday. Grandstands are empty. The streaming is much better this year than last year IMO.

When they tested there in February it was much colder than usual and Will Power had the fastest lap of 1:09 there. Those speeds were quicker then.

They may be just getting warmed up and used to the track again. I think we may see faster times the 2nd session.

Maybe the reds are really sticky there or everybody is sandbagging a little.

The track temperture should result in quicker times than Feb. by the time it's all said and done.

Unless some potholes have sprung in spring

Yes, I think we will see faster times this 2nd session. After watching practice today, the track is very smooth.

Hey DF,

That's about the most practice I've ever watched for a road course event...they don't normally run reds at all until qualifying?

Seems like you'd want to do at least a few laps in practice to note if any other changes were in order.

IndyCars certainly don't look slow on that track, do they.

Am I right in thinking this is the first time Baguette has ever sat in an indycar?
