Congrats to Will Power for the win. Im still heartbroke but it was a gutsy call and thats what they had to do to get Danica some track position. She ran a great race despite her finish.

I was wondering, with so few posts regarding this race, is this a reflection of the number of people who were able to watch it, or a reflection of IndyCar racing as the IRL slowly dies in 2011 and is reincarnated in 2012?

...Which brings me to the yellows. A lot of the full-course yellows to me aren't even worthy. With a track with as a much runoff as Barber, I don't know why there aren't marshalls hopping over the barriers and pulling the cars further into the runoff areas, but every time a car stopped it was a full-course yellow. Road-courses are spread out enough to give you time to take care of a situation, while they are also long enough to make full-course yellows a frustrating, tedious extension of race-time. I know it's nothing new but it was just frustratingly apparent and bugging me lol (with the camera showing SO much runoff to pull the car into and avoid slowing that whole field down, which only leads to more wrecking with these double-file things)

what is with the useless tow and no cranes? INDYcar is filled with lower rank and pay drivers- their will be accident and even among the great drivers out there there is some rubbing.
but why can't they move a car any faster? full course yellows? and they seemingly don't know how to move cars either it was agonizing-
that said i like this track, nice racing when it was green for 5 lap stints- and when it was going longer- commercial...commercial.

Great to see Will still looking so fast - fantastic result for him. If he has got ovals sorted a bit better this year he could just go one step further this year.

He's really stepped up since he's been with Penske, not that he was a slow Team Australia in the Champ Car days. Was unlucky not to take the crown last year, hopefully this time round!

Great to see Pagenaud and Kanaan do their stuff. I'm glad to see the organisers have a mind of their own re. double file. Young Andretti and Bourdais both kept it steady. With a big field and lots of drama the race felt like an old Indycar race.

Power was brilliant. I'm not sure I want him to walk the championship but I do hope he wins it. I'll be rooting for him at Indy too.

Bernard looking for a 0.6 for Barber race UPDATE Versus fails IndyCar yet again. Bernard was looking for an increase from last year's 0.4 rating for the Barber race up to a 0.6, a 30% increase. Instead he got a 25% decrease to this year's 0.3 rating, also on Versus. Mr. Bernard is not responsible for this problem however. Those involved with the negotiations, before he arrived on the scene, were simply pennywise and pound foolish.

They did get highlights on ESPN's SportCenter and commentary went something like; "There's Danica in the "Daddy" car, because it's not going anywhere!"

Kanaan must be very satisfied with himself. He's edged out his established but inconsistent team mates and he's heading his old team in the championship. It's great to see.

04/15/11 Versus remains a noose around IndyCar's neck UPDATE #3 Just when you thought it could not get any worse, it did. Versus posted a 0.2 final U.S. rating for last Sunday's Izod IndyCar Series Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. The 0.3 previous published was a Cable TV rating. When the final numbers came in counting all households that have a TV, the final was a horrible 0.2. And the Versus noose around IndyCar's neck tightens....... In our opinion IndyCar needs to do a deal to put all races on network NBC TV starting in 2013 with Versus doing qualifying and other ancillary stuff. With a result of 0.2 that is all they are good for. While the league may have to pay money to NBC to begin, the investment will bring more sponsorship money into the paddock and the payback will be five-fold. You can't grow IndyCar on the back of 0.2 ratings.

The exact same thing happened last year and they wonder why viewing figures are down.
