Many thanks to jh1800 for posting it up for me while I got registered. And many thanks for your kind comments. I was also involved with the Corgi model and think its great. The Corgi design consultant did my graphics too.

In answer to the question the Scottish champ class A is up to 1500cc so it should be reasonbly competitive. Competition from 2 other fiestas, a cooperS, and several Alfas among others. Other classes are 1501-1800, 1801-2300, 2300-3600 and >3600.

I have no aspirations in my rookie year other than to avoid having to redo the paint job & graphics! First race is Easter Sunday 8/4 at Knockhill.

Steve
Welcome fellow Rookie! Your car looks great, as does the Corgi version. I recently wrote for Model Collector magazine on the subject of the Corgi XR2 (comparing it with the Minichamps version). It would be great if at some point in the future I was able to write something about the Corgi Curnow car and your spot-on replica.

I'm sure i'm not alone in saying this, but it would be great if you were able to keep us updated with progress, results and pics.

Will keep posting as the season goes - probably via Malcolm Smith's thread for 2012 SMRC classics (when up) in the historic racing today section.

As for article - pm'd

How are you doing? gather you passed thread on to Alan. Perhaps you should get one of yours out from under the dust sheets and they could have a Scottish reunion.

I actually did that replica, it is as close to the original as possible. I was in contact with corgi who were making the model when i was doing the car, i used 1/10th scale blueprint and stepped up to full size, the colours made from pantone codes. 128 runs of line tape amd alot of masking. Glad u like it . I am paul of california classics falkirk. I am able to reproduce this as i still have all the plans.the white, orange and blue are painted on the rest is decals. Glad to see the car being appreciated
