I remember reading a bit about all this a while ago and at least from what I read about it, Lehto was in deep doo doo. Unfortunate for Lehto, but much much worse for the guy that passed away.

Terrible and by all accounts entirely avoidable circumstances have led to this though?

Hate to see all this happening to one of my early heroes but one cannot believe what he did...

Paarma should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Two years and four months of prison it is then for JJ. They say the injuries indicate he was driving the boat. He will probably be in parole earlier though. I'm not sure it was the right judgement. It seems to me they gave the sentence just in case he was guilty. I guess we never know for sure.

Unbelievable, i remember reading something about it last year but i didn't know he was on trial, even more astonishing to find out he was judged guilty. Do you know if he's going to appeal?

JJ Lehto again brought to justice - the fate be decided?. Lehto's friend's life requiring boat accidents reviews the Court of Appeal in October.

Main hearing is reserved for five days, the Turku Court of Appeal was told Tuesday iltalehti.

Sad. Sad for the friend who died. Sad to see the driver who I always thought had more natural talent than Hakkinen, Salo and Raikkonen ending up this way.

Oh he was a great driver. However he would have been better advised to do a second year in 3000 in '90 alongside Comas at Dams and perhaps not done the Monteverdi fiasco.

JJ Lehto has acquired a new, innocence to support the expert opinion of the Turku Court of Appeals for continuous processing of boat accidents. The opinion was written by a Master of Science Kari Alppivuori. Prosecutor refutes completely Lehto new evidence. He refers to the District Court in consultation with the experts and finds that the boat driver beyond reasonable doubt: the boat drove Lehto. Prosecutor requires Lehto prison sentences increase in five years.

Turku Court of Appeal to begin story the main hearing in early October.

hmmmm....it should serve as a lesson to anyone who thinks that 'dicking' around in a motor vehicle in a public place is not going to see them pay the consequences for that action.

Jyrki Järvilehto (JJ Lehto) will not go to jail because of the boat accident that happened couple years ago. Earlier today, the Court of Appeal made ​​a final decision.
