Rumours Red Bull to be powered by Infiniti.

Another strong rumour doing the rounds at Monaco is that Red Bull will be 'Infinity' powered in 2014 and beyond. All Renault branding to be replaced with Infinity. The engine supply costs of £18 million will be taken up by Infinity, essentially becoming the Infinity works team, and the team will be known as Red Bull-Infinity F1.

?? How can one post a link if there isn't one at the time? If a breaking story (or rumour) has just has passed from one ear to another, or a phone to another phone via text, and the source of the news is another human? Isn't this a discussion forum? Where a story, a rumour, news, etc. etc., either true or false, can be discussed even if it turns out to be incorrect?

That's why this one and some others are still alive. If nothing shows up or the subject is really nothing then we close it down. Believe me, we had a lot of trouble with "insiders" and rumours that were just hot air, and we have been doing this for a long time.
You showed a link that proves that this subject is worth a discussion, otherwise anyone can post a "rumour" and put the forum on fire. You try to prove a point but we have a job to do here and it's not easy.

Will this mean the Infiniti V6 will be different to the Renault V6? Will Red Bull have an advantage over the other teams running the base Renault V6?

Some teams will perhaps use a different ERS to the one that Infiniti are building for Red Bull. It would be a similar thing to what is happening in F1 at the moment. Some teams prefer to use their own KERS in their own car, regardless of engine choice, while some other teams don't really have much choice.

If you've ever passed by the Red Bull factory, then you'll know that the number of Infinti cars in the car park is a sure sign that Infiniti is likely to become a very strong brand in the future. Whether or not it will have its logo put on the new turbo engine is just something for which we'll have to wait and see.
