A.L.M.S. at Philip Island

I heared a rumour at the Philip Island round of the V8 series that australia's round of the A.L.M.S has been tendered for a Race of a thousand years meet in the 2nd week of December next year. Has anyone heared anything about this?

Re: A.L.M.S. at Philip Island

I hope you are right... - what about this "exclusive" Panoz-Adelaide contract that basically mandates to have the ALMS race at Adelaide, and nowhere else, for 10 years?

Well everybody knows that contracts are only worth the paper that there written on. Plus didn't panoz launch legal action against the adelaide gov't for breach of contract. Anyway enquires with the A.L.M.S. via e-mail said that they are exploring options in australia and are hoping to announce something soon.

Well I live in Adelaide and the first thing we had to do was change the state government (completed) Now we have to repair, or rather, reconstruct bridges with Don Panoz, before we can talk dates. But it all starts here, so if you want the race make some noise cause bums on seats (and TV ratings) is what they want as a guide to succes.

[Gets of chair and begins praying for that unique internal vibration you get when.... a THUMPING BIG PANOZ 6.0L V8 SHAKES PAST - Oh the memories...!!!]

I have to be alone for a while to reminisce

It would be good to see real race cars and no flaming taxis.

Well sounds like there still is support in the city of churches. I was an official at the New Years spectacular, And i sure as hell hope that bridges can be mended. But Don Panoz has had his fingers burnt by S.A. Government and why would he bring the race back? Also i have mind inquires to Panoz in the U.S. and they informed me that they are talking to three organisations in Australia about the race. But what they wouldn't tell me is who. Maybe the rumoured new track in freo has a leg up to start with. Nivola do you know anything about it?
