The Nissan Club has been mentioned by the old guy - not a CAMS event stigette so was it an AASA permit and insurance.
This must raise alarm bells for clubs running events on public roads with no safety plan or guidelines on how fast their members can go on the open sections.

From what I read (in the newspaper) it was a social meet/drive only, not an "event"

NDSOC have a code of conduct that all members must abide by when on official club runs etc, so he's bound to be given a serve by the club (if he isn't kicked out permanently).

The guy could also be charged under the CAMS constitution for bringing the sport into disrepute because 1) he has a CAMS licence and 2) elected to use the excuse 'I am a race car driver I know what I am doing' to justify his speeding.

Methinks he might find himself in even more hot water in the coming weeks.....
