Honda to join Formula Ford?
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...6&mid=0&nmt=RE:
Given that they are one of the largest, if not the largest manufacturer of engines this makes some sense. |

Good idea.
Anything that can remove the ridiculous inequalities in power that come from a formula using Kent engines these days is to be welcomed. They cost a fortune to maintain and are ludicrously unreliable for the tiny amount of power they produce. Then they can take their rightful place on the grid in the HSCC formulae. |

Don't fancy it's chances in the UK. We have already brought up the topic of Duractec engines in club formula ford (which I am totally for), but the vast majority don't like change.
I have said it a million times on here but lets make it 1,000,001 - Lets just use AUS Formula Ford regs for club and national formula ford. Instant over subscribed national rounds due to the local club boys joining in, 150+ at the festivel in ONE class, as it should be. The cars all look mega over in Oz and the grids are always packed. |

So realistically - how many people would actually build/enter a Club Duratec (ie kent rules with a dumbed down Duratec unit). And how many confirmed entries would the clubs want to allow us a sub classs within say NWFF?
Sounds like 3 of us are pretty keen..any others? |

If the club spec Duratec was specified with the minimum number of specialist parts and instead used as much of the base motor as possible then it would be as close as dammit to Kent power and come in at a reasonable price. All that is needed is an agreed set of tech regs to work from and willingness from the clubs to include the converted cars into the existing class structure. |

I think we're duplicating a fair bit with this thread guys - and as it's mainly about replacing Kent engines I'd say that's the more appropriate place for it

Yep 50-six 2nd everything you have said but there seems to be suppliers making alot of money out of kent engines that seem to have alot of power with ford. Ford have gone the wrong way sinse the kent days and aussie rules has the same bases as the kents but with a modern engine. Have you watched any racing from there its megga. Current duratec are nearly as quick as a f3 that is just crazy.
