How many winners is the most for a season? Because we have had nine in 2014 and wouldn't be surprised if we reached ten in the final three meetings...

Jordan
Turkington
Plato
Tordoff
Shedden
Smith
Neal
Jackson
Collard

I think that, as a souvenir from that 10th winner's victory, TOCA should invest in some frame-by-frame technology. It's clear that they don't want to penalise Plato in case the title fight is ruined. So, as normal, Plato can hit whoever he likes as long as he's got a title hope. Perhaps Colin should return the favour as soon as possible! I guess it's in the championships interests to prevent Plato from being upset as he will rant for the next 4 months with the same narrow mind he constantly displays...

...rant over

I reckon that 10th winner will be Mr Menu at Silverstone...

BillWiskins should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Interesting that the reverse grid rules didn't yield a significant change in the number of winners.

Anyway. I think the Plato/Jackson/Turkington incident might be being overthought somewhat. Plato has done some bone-headed things in his time for sure, but this doesn't look like one of them to me. And all of this conjecture that seems to imply that there was some sort of evil plan behind the way things unfolded... if anything, Plato is being given too much credit. Those screenshots are lovely, and I'm sure it took a lot of time to find the exact frames required to fit the 'plan'. As it happened, I made it something like three to four seconds from Turkington rejoining the track directly ahead of Plato and Plato hitting him. If it's more, it's not a lot more. My point is - is that enough time to assess the situation, come up with a cunning plan, and put that plan into action? Or is it more likely, when you're hurtling around a rollercoaster-like track in a racing car inches from several others doing the same, that sometimes things happen that are not entirely to be blamed on any one person..?

That's some conjecture on my part, of course
The stewards who will be dishing out penalties, or not, based on this incident will have access to far more information then we do. If they deem it to be an 'evil plan'-based manoeuvre then I will happily stand corrected.

I think that's an understatement!

From my view, some people on here are a little obsessed...

I'm sure they will find something to penalise turkington for before the rockingham rounds. Maybe he was wearing odd coloured socks on race day or something?

His car actually resembles an odd coloured sock quite well!

Actually in all those fine frame images it appears that Jackson's car moves slightly left towards Plato judging by the distance against the track limits.

But personally I think you have to look at the video itself in flow as context.

Also, for those talking "brake check" there was no such thing at the hairpin. Brake checking it braking where it's not expected. Plato was simply making sure he did not overshoot the apex at all. He knew he had to be right down on it and be able to keep the car low to have a chance down the front straight.

Was it as fast as he could possibly go through the corner? No? But if he'd pushed and missed the apex, he was definitely dead meat.
