I dont know about Russell but there is a Marcos club. It is called the Devil Racer Club. At Bathurst there was even a "corporate" type tent on the Main Straight across from HRT for his fans. And before you ask, yes it was sold out on Sunday.

Well I wasn't trying to attack R8, I was simply pointing out that this discussion was beginning to deteriorate into arguement about who likes and dislikes Skaife (and no R8 that wasn't aimed at you either). When its honest aim was to try to understand why the later opinion exists.

Honestly, I'm sure even Skaifes fans can see that he has his detractors?????

So Can't you come up with any sensible reasoning at all??

And AJ, thanks for the counter while I was gone

Well, I know I am. I clearly understand that Skaife has fans despite the fact that I am about as far from being one as possible.

I also understand that not everyone likes me, and there is nothing I can do about it in some cases.

I can, but I'm one of those scarce little bunny rabbits who likes to the see the best in everyone, so I can't really understand it when people say they don't like a particular driver based on a few meetings on a busy weekend...

In answer to that Wizzby may I state "First impressions count."

And may I then also ask, how many brief encounters with Skaife did you have before you decided that you liked him???? (Which was meant to mean that shouldn't the converse of your logic also count)

Brief encounters or encounters that lasted several hours? ;-) Second time, mostly because on the first I was too nervous to talk to him!

Honestly, whenever I meet someone I assume I like them. Otherwise you'll more than likely end up not liking them, like when I met Ambrose, he was rather bland but hey that's probably just his style.

And yes first impressions do count, but I've met plenty of people over the years who appear to be right arses on the outside, but are actually quite nice people when you see them in a better mood.

When I meet people I do assume the best of them, as I did when I met Skaife the first and second times (and no these were not brief encounters due to the individual who introduced me). But each of these times he was nothing short of rude and I lost all inclination to expect the best from him.

But this is dragging me into who likes/dislikes Skaife arguement that I have already said is pointless.

Hehehe, funny how a simple question can turn into a ****fight so fast ;-).

Personally I like Skaifey, and yes I have met and spoken to him a few times. I can however understand that not everyone *has* to like the guy and that some will dislike him on the simple notion that he drives a Holden :-0.

I absolutely puke over Fords, but I think Ambrose and Lowndes are great guys :-), even though they would do much better driving a Holden :-Þ!! <g,d&r>

It may seem weird to some, but I can actually understand why people won't like him if they get him on a bad day...he's moodier than a ***** with PMS (and that's coming from someone who adores him) It just bugs me when people put someone in the "too hard" basket

Well, no actually, I thought you were a bloke because you put ***** instead of woman.

Its quite obvious you know what you are talking about after reading a few posts tonight (after a long absence). In all honesty, you women prolly understand this better than most us blokes as most blokes either see black or white and cannot see grey.

My daughter (15) is a huge HRT Skaife fan and knows as much if not more than I do about the sport :-).

Keep up the good work and keep jamming it into those blue oval supporters <g>

I think this has gone round and round for long enough. Some people like him , some hate him, so get over it.
