With Kristoffersson in WRX not along with KMS, there is a chance that KMS might enter STCC. They had no rallycross cars at the beginning of december and Kristoffersson has been their driver since the start.

However, they wanted to WRX back in december. But with VW Sweden supporting Solberg and loosing their cooperation with another quite wealthy team, I have a hard time seeing how KMS would get the backing for WRX. Doing STCC would be a lot cheaper and easier for them thinking of how things look at the moment, or what is known at least.

Last year Marklund and KMS cooperated to run two cars in WRX.

I think this season we will see the same. Solbergs people will run Petters car and KMS people will run Johan's car. Does KMS have the people to run cars in STCC? I am not sure about that. Besides that they need financial backing to run in STCC. But maybe with the WRX operation becoming more factory they need less money for that.

I seem to remember that I considered renting some sort of used muscle car through them when I was doing my study abroad in the US. Ended up going with the boring option (Chevy Cobalt through Enterprise) - mainly because of them being more conveniently located.

KMS got nothing to do with Solberg and VW. Solberg will run the team with his crew and people from VW, with sponsorship from VW Sweden also. They had no rallycross cars as of beginning of december.

My point was rather that WRX is getting more and more expensive. That's why Marklund pulled out, and he got money. KMS ran in WRX before and had people for it and sponsoring from VW Sweden and Veiby.

Running a team in STCC would surely be cheaper than WRX. Heikkinen had too pay 1 100 000-1 200 000 euros to compete with EKS. And Solbergs new team were up on figures above 8 million euros. I can hardly see why KMS would do WRX again.

There was a meeting in Stockholm this weekend with more info regarding the 2017 season. I was there to catch up on the latest official and unofficial news and I must say I remain optimistic.

It's been very long since I encountered a positive attitude like this in Swedish racing.

We are probably looking at a very healthy grid.
