Spare Cars

CAn anyone explain to me how many cars a typical CART team has

The reason I ask is just how many cars did, for example, Mo Nunn bring to Europe that they could even consider running another chassis at Rockingham after Zanardi's dreadful accident

To my knowledge the team have at least one spare. For some of the smaller and less funded teams they may only have one spare bewteen the two drivers.

I would imagine that most of the teams use one spare for each driver for road and street courses because a crash usually does not destroy the car. Ovals are different of course with crashes usually damaging the tub as well as knocking off the suspension.
