**** To all Under 2 Litre Sport Sedan members and fellow Racers ****
I have some shocking news.

Past members Denis Spooner and his son Warrick appear to have lost their Wife/Mother, and a Son/Brother in bush fires in the Kinglake area.

They have also lost all their possessions, Home, Sheds, Machinery, Cars and Racing Car.

They will need help, now and ongoing.

Please decide if you can assist in any way you can.

Please contact any Member of the Committee if you are able to assist, at this time we don’t even know where Denis or Warwick are, but they will need help.

With Sorrow
Mike Kyval

Condolances to Warrick and Denis. It must be a hard time for you at the moment but If there is anything we can do let us know, your motorsport freinds are here to hel anyway we can.

Regards

Matthew

Terrible sad news, so much of it about at the moment, one of our crew lost his home and several close friends in the fires.
Dennis and Warwick are well known to us and we caught up regularly at AASA meetings last year.
With all the sadness of the past week it makes you wonder about the moron they caught yesterday (I think) throwing lighted cigarette butts out his car window.

Thank you for the kind words but nothing will replace Marilyn and Damien . If you happen to see us at the track just come up and give us a big hug.

Hi Denis,

It is incredibly big of you at a time like this to appear on here. Whilst being Kiwi-based does make it a little more challenging, Warwick's race car is known to me.

Please be assured that support isn't just coming from within Australia.

Take it easy, the pair of you.

JDI I have just returned last night from 2 weeks travelling around NZ and the level of support from all the Kiwis I met was astounding and very appreciated. Wherever we went they were raising or donating money to the cause.

Mate, it's in all the suburban newspapers in Auckland, and Red Cross are really pushing hard.

You sods might bowl under-arm, but we also fought in the trenches.

Funny how two countries of such intense rivalry can call each other both pricks and comrades.
