Where are they now? (Drivers)
This is another "Where are they now" thread, except it's about the drivers. Mine are about what happened to several Bathurst winners. Here they are:
Barry Muholland: The guy who drove one lap with Bruce McPhee in 1968. Last I know of him is that he drove one lap again with Bruce McPhee in 1969. Tony Roberts: Drove with Bond to win in '69. Crashed heavily in 1970 at Bathurst. George Reynolds: Won Bathurst in 1965. Any relation to David Reynolds? Bob Skelton: Drove with Brock to win? in '75? |

Skelton never drove with Brock AFAIK. In 1975 his co-driver was Brian Sampson.

Bob Skelton I think runs a promo clothing company out of Balmain in Sydney called Mr Jackets. I think that it is him.

Skelton drove with Bond in 1974.

Whoops, I meant Sampson instead of Skelton. I always get them confused.

Yes he (Firth) is, although he is 90, these days. I think Leo Geohegan died a few years ago.

Yes, Leo was at the Tasman Revival in December. Ian passed away in late 2003.
Harry Firth is still around, he has a column in the AMC Clubsport magazine |

Brian Sampon still competes regularly in the Victorian formula ford series and bobs up sometimes at historic meetings.

Barry Mulholland passed away about a year or so ago...
Bob Holden's still kickin', and the most recent photo I've seen of him in something or other, would suggest that he's changed very little from a time when he won Bathurst outright... George Reynolds... isn't he a relo of Larry Perkins? |

My Favourite 08 moment was when Courtney/Besnard comeback drive at Bathurst. Courtney raced through to dominate the opening stint had 15 sec. gap to Lowndes who was in 2nd. In the 2nd stint a slowly deflating tyre (originally diagnosed as a damaged anti-roll bar) slowed Besnard's stint in Courtney's car allowing Whincup to assert dominance over the field rest of the race. On lap 160 S.Richards, fading badly on rear tyres was unable to stop Courtney move into 3rd place. |
