It's not that unusual. The Phoenix R8 LMS last year was also said to carry and test new stuff for the 2015 Next-Gen R8 LMS.

That's not good

And then there's the big jump early in the lap (I don't remember the name of the section) and that would be much more concerning considering how much air the top guys get over that crest.

No. Though it would be much more expensive to race it in the 24hr as opposed to one of the shorter VLN races. It's great to see it out and about though. Fingers crossed Bartels finds the money for a one off race.

Guess this answers my 'will there be works Mercedes?' question from earlier. Seems Rowe and Zakspeed are running a lot of Pros. Are Zakspeed in for the N24 do we know?

Their website only mentions Blancpain Sprint and Spa 24. No mention of VLN at all but since they are there we can't really count them out of the N24 eh?

Difficult to pick out an overwhelming favourite for this year. I'm thinking Rowe or Black Falcon but the quality and depth of the SP9 field at the N24 this year is going to be tremendous.

No kidding, seeing as at least 4 pro Audis, BMWs and at least 2 Astons, Mercedes', Nissans and Bentleys means we're looking at a minimum of 16 sort-of-works cars and a lot of other strong GT lineups.

Not to mention, the quantity and quality throughout the field is looking really good in VLN; BMW seem to be selling those 2-series cup cars like hot cakes.

Why was a 997 cup car leading the third plateau at the start, by the way?

It's running a different class to the other clearly, but I didn't catch what number it was. Will take a look later.

They were just talking a lot about McLaren; do we know if there are any plans for McLaren in VLN or N24 this year?
