But your comment about sponsors is something that must be concerning many people, not only in V8ST but across the sport in general. While some of the top competitors in this class enjoy the advantage of having a father or uncle (or whomever) with a very large cheque book, others have to present and sell a viable commercial package to make their budgets. Even the series hasn't attracted a lead sponsor yet, so where are all the big-name sponsors? Have many lost their appetite for motor-racing? My point is that if the higher profile names can't pull them in, what chance do the up-and-comers have, regardless of their talent. |

Great to have Tasman over here and in the sport, but that design does not do it for me...just my opinion of course, very after-thought-ish.
I 'heard' the Corkery car went back to Aus for repair/check. |

Anyone able to give us the good oil? Not enough parts in town, not enough money in the bank account, not enough time to get the chassis to and from Aussie in time, other? |

I quite like Gaunts car, but i do also agree on the comments here about lack of sponsorship. I would have thought that F&P would have got behind Reid and that would make for a great looking car.
But its still early days. Maybe the big sponsors are waiting for a years worth of racing to be completed before they dig deep and commit. Wonder how Foggys car is coming along and if it will be sponsered to the hilt, or just a black car?....which could look awesome nonetheless. Great looking cars those ST's though, you have to admit that |

One of Hydraulink's catch-calls is 24 hours 7 days a week is it not? Would assume that is the tie in.

You're probably right there Biggy, but i also like Promax's take on it too, seems kinda fitting really
Your right too harcey, that is a great job to get the car completed and all liveried up in time. Bring on ze veekend (as they say in germany). Looks like a big, fattish high will be planted over most of NZ this weekend with it all going a bit pear shaped on monday. So hopefully some good weather for the racing and it should be dry will a small chance of drizzle late in sunday |

Thats a good point actually harcey, what with Hamptons basically being on a peat bog, and the winter-style anticylcones certainly do support fog if the moisture and inversion are there.
Makes me wonder if it could be Foggys' lucky weekend |

Hi all, just wondering of someone could please answer the following for me. I was having a discussion with someone over the Ford Coyote engine and they pointed out that the only Ford part on it was the cam covers. The block, crank, rods, pistons, cams, value train, pumps, sump etc are all third party supplied and put together by Fords performance house.
My understanding is that everything was made and manufactured by Ford or have I got it completely wrong. |

The Ford Coyote engine as found in road cars is part of the Ford Modular range of engines that range in size from 4.6L to 6.8L.

Corkery's car is still in the South Island, it was never planned to send the car to Aussie, I understand that they are still waiting for parts.
